Another tick for Marvel Studios who have become unstoppable at this point. The Hollywood Repoter is reporting that Captain America: The Winter Soldier had broken the April advance ticket sales and the film will have the biggest April opening of all time this weekend. The site claims that the film will "cross $90 million in it's North American debut this weekend. Some even wonder if it could approach $100 million." They go on to say  "On Thursday, the $170 million sequel became the top selling April title in Fandago's 14 year history, eclipsing Universal's Fast Five, which debuted with to $86.2 million in late April 2011. Fandago rival MovieTickets.com is also reporting brisk sales."The film has already passed 100 million internationally after opening in 32 markets and grossing 75.2 million last weekend. With barely any competition this month, the film will earn as much as possible even matching or even surpassing Thor: The Dark World's $644 million.

What do you guys think? Are you excited for this movie? Leave your thoughts down below.

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy — the Winter Soldier. Starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernández with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is directed by the team of Anthony & Joe Russo from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Alan Fine, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee. The creative production team on the film includes director of photography Trent Opaloch, production designer Peter Wenham, editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. and Mary Jo Markey, A.C.E. and three time Oscar®-nominated costume designer Judianna Makovsky. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is set for release on April 4, 2014.

It'd be amazing if this gets to $100 million this weekend. From what I've read, it deserves that much and more. Seeing it in less than 6 hours (midnight premiere), can't freaking wait!

(Not to start a Marvel vs. DC flame war, but...) I really hope this movie surpasses Man of Steel. Captain America is such a great character, but he's been dismissed as a B-Lister for so long... Being the higher box office draw than Superman himself would really make the broader media world take notice of him. Right now, the high-water marks are...

Iron Man (who would have thought that 10 years ago?)
Batman
Spider-Man
Superman
Thor

It certainly looks possible, but it's right on the bubble if these predictions are right.
