"Last Remains" continues in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man, and in today's issue #51.LR, we spent time with a number of supporting characters. Black Cat and Doctor Strange agree to team-up to help the wall-crawler, Mary Jane Watson is rescued by Norman Osborn (of all people), and the now powerless Sin-Eater has formulated yet another plan.

In order to stop the rampaging spider heroes from tearing across New York City, there's someone he needs to absorb the powers of: Morlun.

The vampiric villain was first introduced by J. Michael Straczynski, but has returned from the dead on a number of occasions. It's been established that he's part of a family of beings who hunt spider heroes throughout the Multiverse called the Inheritors, though that's arguably made him feel like less of a threat to Peter Parker as he's now just one of many such villains!

During the "Spider-Geddon" story, though, they were all turned into harmless infants, and it was thought the same fate awaited Morlun after Spidey - narrowly - managed to defeat him. How he's managed to break free and roam the sewers of New York (where he's eating spiders for sustenance) is unclear, but his confrontation with the Sin-Eater promises to be very interesting.

I don't think you know what the term "classic" mean Josh.
That whole Spider-Multi-Verse hunting crap was a complete joke and infuriating for purists.

@KindredMac - To me, anything from JMS' run should be considered "classic." All that Spider-Geddon, Spider-Verse stuff, however, most definitely not!

@KindredMac - The characters is 19 years old at this point. What's the cutoff for what's a classic character?

In 2001 would you have considered Black Cat classic character? How about Hobgoblin, Venom, Hydro Man, and Carnage?

At this point I think Morlun counts as a classic.

@storyteller -
In 2001:
Black Cat-YES
Hobgoblin-YES
HydroMan- YES
Venom- Classic? NO. Integral? YES
Carnage- Classic? NO. Integral? YES

However to me in 2020, anything that appeared in comic books AFTER they switched over to continuous tone printing is NOT "classic".

@KindredMac - right on, there is a difference between classic and iconic characters like Venom.

It really doesn't count as shocking if it's barely been a couple years since we last saw him...
