Ummmm... kill off Peter Parker?

Oops already done.

looks like a mix between the Ultimate costume, Ben Reilly's Scarlet Spider costume and the extra legs from the Iron Spider costume

Poor Spider-Man. First, the Civil War, then One More Day, now Spidey-DoCock. Plus Humberto Ramos. His style is sooo... weird. No one ever looks human.

I'm really torn by the costume - its kinda cool, but also too over the top. Kinda got a Carnage/Venom vibe going on.

And seriously, with the extra arms, the mean look and everything...the other heroes in the MU must be stupid if they don't get even more suspicious of Spidey's new direction.

Iron Spidey one more time. I love the darker tone but even I have to agree... Doc Ock has to go! I only hope Peter finds a way to take his body back right around he time ASM2 comes out. Wink...Wink...

Looks good to me. I like it. People have to realize that change can sometimes be good. It's a nice change to have somebody else behind the mask, it's nice to have a costume tweak. I got tired of the same ole Peter Parker stories, same ole Peter Parker villains, same ole Peter Parker costume. It's lame change it up.

I like it. This is shaping up more and more like the KnightFall storyline from the 90's when Azriel took over for Batman and changed his costume a little bit here and there until he had a totally different look and color scheme. Then Wayne comes back and takes the mantle back. Same thing will happen here.

oh I get it. Ock is spiderman now, so you give him "spider legs".... just like Ock's mechanical octopus arms?

thats sooooooo clever. Yeah, nobody will connect the dots and say "Hey, have you noticed Spider-man has become really dark and has killed people and is a total egotistical asshole and now has these extra appendages like Doc Ock? Does that remind you of anyone??"

seriously. [frick] this series.

I think that's the point...

The Hobgoblin firesaber? Eh, guess I'll just wait and read it.
Design wise it's cool, but considering who's been piloting lately I can't believe no one called that, Otto opting for more legs, that is

@cookiedodger

I hope someone puts it all together. If some other hero like Stark figured it out and was actively working on a way to reverse the whole deal and confront Ock it might make me actually pick up the series.

At least this costume has 8 and not 7. 7 legs? WTF?

This is fine and all but it's not Spider-Man. Ghost Peter kept me around because I still cared about Peter and how he was going to get back, now I really don't care what happens to Spock.
Cookiedodger

I like the way the book is going.
They rebooted Spider-Man by letting Ock take over. As much as the writing is questionable sometimes, overall it has made interesting stories. The problem with Comic book characters is that when they have been around for 40-50 years, they don't evolve anymore. For a story to be interesting there must be challenges that cause the character to grow. Spider-Man has always been my favorite hero, but as I approach 40 I must admit that as a character he has grown stagnant. Letting Otto take the reigns has rejuvenated the book because the main character now has the potential to grow. If you look back at the stories over the last few years, Parker is on the cusp of growing, like the 'back in black' run but they always flee back to a status quo. Even the brand new day failed to let Peter evolve. On some level I hope Peter comes back, but I think that when he does it will be same old, same old. Ultimately I read these books to be entertained, and not knowing what Ock will do next is more entertaining than Peter's predictability (for now).

This is just getting silly...

Look, the idea to have Peter die and have Octavius take over is an incredibly creative idea. Period. They were really thinking outside the box on that one.

But...this isn't Spider-Man. It's not. This isn't the character that got me hooked when I was a kid. Peter doesn't loose. Even when the odds are 100-1 he doesn't loose.

I don't get why Marvel is so focused on trashing their most valuable property....

It's a sad day when Scarlet Spider, a title featuring a character that came from the most hated period in Spider-Man history, and a knock off clone, is a more interesting read than this garbage....
