COMICS: Tony may be IRON MAN but is not a STARK?

An interesting query to ponder regarding a new origin?

Editorial Opinion

I don't know the specifics because I personally was never an IRON MAN fan, nor a supporter of the characters publications. I did however hear an interesting development on the character that I feel has merit. Tony Stark aka IRON MAN needs no introduction I'm sure now, post his film success. It was revealed that Tony Stark is not really Howard Stark's son? WHAT?!? I understand switching things up but this? I feel MARVEL is beginning to cross towards inhospitable territory a la BND. Editorial tampering ruins the foundation of something that became standard definitive MARVEL lineage. Comics are in perpetual flux as a medium; is this just another example? Arno Stark? The long lost, unknown; biological son to HOWARD STARK. Tony's true identity is IRON MAN now from a certain point of view? GILLEN gets a lot of respect but I find him to be a very hit or miss writer. Wasn't becoming a GUARDIAN OF THE GALAXY enough? Certain takes work of his, others fizzle. So hit or miss CBM appreciators?

Wasn't Arno Stark an alternate reality version of Iron Man?

Arno was modified in utero by an robot named 451, to be a weapons tech prodigy. He was also built with a killswitch, to kick in around 30 years old or so.

Howard removed that kill-switch, at the cost of Arno having to live with an iron lung his whole life. Fearing that 451 would find out and eliminate Arno, Howard adopted another child....Tony. 451 thinks that Tony is the child he experimented on, and life goes on.

It doesn't really change that much, to be honest. Tony still has a distant relationship with his dad (this actually illuminates WHY that is), and now Tony's gonna have to deal with the truth now that its out. He's found Arno, and wants to bond with him.

Thought if this Arno is anything like Iron Man 2020 Arno, its gonna be a very nasty end for Tony.

Its a risky story, but its meaty story-wise, I always like it when they flesh out Tony's family life, it adds so much to his neurosis.

to be honest it still doesn't affect the 'Iron-Man' origin. the whole cave 'shabang'. it does however give another perspective to the character, because lets be honest there's not a whole lot on sale for Iron-Man...
