Deadpool was nominated at the Golden Globes, and while the movie walked away empty handed there, it's legitimately started generating Oscar buzz after scoring a Producers Guild of America (PGA) "Best Film" nomination. As a result, there's been talk of the movie being recognised at this year's Academy Awards, and Ryan Reynolds has released a typically tongue in cheek video promoting that.
This probably isn't the best way to win over voters, but it goes well with the Deadpool's unique marketing campaign ahead of its release and pokes fun more at the movie than the Oscars ceremony.
Do you think Deadpool deserves this sort of attention? I liked the movie, but it honestly feels like it's being rewarded more for its success after years of being stuck in development hell rather than being a worthy awards contender!
