Beauty and the Beast has only been on release for twenty days, but now it has accomplished two major milestones. Domestically, it crossed the $400 million mark earlier this week, taking only took 19 days to reach that massive number. That also means it was the sixth fastest film to reach the $400 million mark after Star Wars: The Force Awakens (8 days), Jurassic World (10 days), Marvel's The Avengers (14 days), Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (16 days), and The Dark Knight (18 days). Beauty and the Beast has a current domestic total of $404.1 million, and is expected to finish with over $500 million.

Overseas, the Disney flick is at $506.7 million where it leads in the markets in China ($83.3 million) and the United Kingdom ($66.8 million). The global total currently stands at a whopping $910.8 million. It is expected to finish around $1.2-1.3 billion. Japan is the last major market left for Beauty and the Beast to open in.

Did the movie need to be made? No not really. Was it awful, not not really.

I liked it for the furniture servants more than anything, but it did surprise me in allot of areas.
