MOWGLI: LEGEND OF THE JUNGLE - Check Out The Full Trailer For Andy Serkis' Star-Studded Adaptation

The full trailer for Netflix's Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle is now online, and it promises an exciting, star-studded take on the classic tale.

Newcomer Rohan Chand stars as the boy raised by wolves who still feels a connection to the human world. He's joined by the likes of Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Naomie Harris and Andy Serkis, who also directed the film.

Despite a few changes to the main narrative, this really doesn't look a whole lot different to the Disney version that was released in 2016 - but that doesn't mean it won't prove to be a successful adaptation in its own right.

Warner Bros. was originally going to release the movie before selling it to Netflix, but it will still get a short theatrical run before debuting on the streaming service in December.

What do you guys make of the trailer? Drop us a comment down below.

Blending live action and performance capture, the story follows the upbringing of the human child Mowgli (Rohan Chand) raised by a wolf pack in the jungles of India. As he learns the often-harsh rules of the jungle, under the tutelage of a bear named Baloo (Andy Serkis) and a panther named Bagheera (Christian Bale), Mowgli becomes accepted by the animals of the jungle as one of their own. All but one: the fearsome tiger Shere Khan. (Benedict Cumberbatch). But there may be greater dangers lurking in the jungle, as Mowgli comes face to face with his human origins. The other story’s central animal characters are: Kaa, the snake (Cate Blanchett); the leader of the wolf pack, Akela (Peter Mullan); the scavenging hyena, Tabaqui (Tom Hollander); Nisha, the female wolf (Naomie Harris), who adopts the baby Mowgli as one of her cubs; Nisha’s mate, Vihaan (Eddie Marsan); and Mowgli’s Brother Wolf (Jack Reynor).

Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle hits theaters on November 29th, before moving to Netflix on December 7th.

I love Andy Serkis and all the actors in it but...the one we got last year is so good that I think it will hurt this one...I mean, two Mowgli movie in one year ?!?

@Marc0106 - The Jon Favreau one was released in early 2016.

@Marc0106 - The Jungle Book was mostly based on the animated movie plus King Louie loves him some cowbells.

This movie seems to be following the actual book which might be darker in tones to the Disney flick.

@Marc0106 - Jungle Book was good because they made a terrible cartoon better. It ends differently than the cartoon. I think Disney's plan was to make 3 films by using the cartoon and books. I remember reading that the book's ending is a bloodbath so let's see how disney adapts that LOL.

Serkis's version looks interesting as it is supposed to be closer to the source material and more "mature".

@mastakilla39 - Thing is, sometimes things don't need to made mature. No offense to Kiplings classic, but we have a story about a little boy and talking animals. The Adult audience shouldn't be the target, especially if you are looking to sell it.

@pucrepeap - I can seet his movie falling somewhere in between though. not the bloodbath mentioned above, but not the cartoon that we are accustomed to.

@mastakilla39 @pucrepeap - Well it is WB who's behind this movie you know how much they love dark stuff and how that always turns out.

Looks pretty good. Nice little movie to watch at home.

Gotta love public domain! Hopefully Zorro makes a comeback...and Tarzan...and John Carter

@AyMan - John Carter screams Netflix original series. I would love to see them take a crack at it in an episodic format.

@RancidBane - You know, what would be an approach to John Carter, where it distances itself from the book? I've had plenty of ideas for Zorro taking place today, Tarzan I thought would be great if it was set in the future but Carter, that would be a big undertaking.

Yup you can what SERKIS brings to mocap here. The detail on the animal's faces is SCARY GOOD. This guy is in a special class by himself.

Well I know what I will be doing on December 7th. I love Adny Serkis! He is a talented actor and learned directing from Peter Jackson by serving as his number 2 on the lord of the rings and hobbit trilogies. I have all the confidence in the world in his ability to make film. Bring on this bad boy!

The eyes on the animals looks disturbing as [frick]. Especially the wolves.

I get it’s to put the human emotion of the actors into the role but it doesn’t seem to be a great decision.

I'm not particularly interested, but that does look rather good. Excellent cast, and Andy Serkis is simply a living treasure.
