Anyway, back to my original topic. I always thought that if a series of films were to be made, they would be a little like Star Wars and Lord of the Rings: A series tell one story over the course of many films. For Dragonball, the story is really long. I feel that about 7 films, each being about 2-3 hours long, would be good for a live action Dragonball Z series. This would not include filler sagas ( so no Garlic Jr. or filler episodes). The names of the films could be as follows:
Dragon Ball : The Invasion (Saiyan Saga)
Dragon Ball: The Final Hope (Namek Saga)
Dragon Ball: The Legend Revealed (Frieza Saga)
Dragon Ball: A New Threat (Future Trunks- Android Saga)
Dragon Ball: The Games Begin (Cell)
Dragon Ball: An Evil Hatches (Buu+Babbdi Saga)
Dragon Ball: The Ending struggle (Fusion+Kid Buu)
I think that fight scenes similar to the Matrix and Equilibrium(among some other great martial films )would be a perfect demonstration of how the fights would be. Also, the filming process would be like that of Lord of the Rings ( all of them filmed at the same time, so you have 7 years of films ). Most of the effects would be real (e.g. Not much CGI). Obviously, ki-blast would be CGI, but villains ( say Frieza and Cell) would be made from a mixture of latex, puppetry, and CGI.
As for casting, this film would more than likely be made in the future and,as such, will have actors that are not yet famous yet. However, feal free to post your picks. Goku should be around 33 thourgh 40 ( remember, he has to be old enough to have a 10 year old son ). Same goes for Vegeta, only a little bit older.
So, what do you guys think? What would you like to see in a Dragon Ball film? (Assuming that you have a crew, cast, and director that all LOVE the series and willing to put real effort into making it a good film overall).
