Disney recently announced that they have bought back the rights to distribute both The Avengers and the newly announced Iron Man 3 films from Paramount.
I see this as Disney beginning a process of fully utilizing their newest brand when they purchased Marvel comics.
To not get off my topic here, this is the start of Disney throwing anything and everything Marvel into our faces. Not that I do not want this because I do love me some Marvel superheroes, but I also fear that Disney could over do this too.
Disney has been known to be pretty savvy, when it comes to marketing, so I am hoping that Disney will not burn out Marvel superheroes period.
Getting back to my point, Disney knows they have a huge film brewing with The Avengers and they paid a ton of money to be able to distribute it.
The bonus was also announcing that Iron Man 3 would be released only a year after The Avengers is released.
This means that there will be more of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, and I hope more to come in the future too because I can watch Downey play both Stark and Iron Man all day long.
My guess is that The Avengers will be setting up the villain for Iron Man 3 with the release date set just about 12 months after the 2012 release of The Avengers.
Could it be Mandarin?
Possibly, but more clues should be available once The Avengers is in theaters for all fans to start guessing on the next Iron Man foe.
