It's been a long time since I have done one of these, so I hope you like this one. It's been a long time coming...
Clark Kent has just turned forty. As he begins to feel his age, Superman starts feeling not so super anymore. Like Superman, Lex Luthor also turns forty and wants to prove to himself that he can defeat his life long rival. The two (former) titans clash in a pathetic attempt at one final confrontation that leaves the people of Metropolis in the middle of the epic mid life crises.
Mike Judge, creator of 'Office Space' presents...
Starring:
Jason Bateman ('Extract', 'Arrested Development') stars as the title character ‘Clark Kent a.k.a. Superman’. Bateman brings an aged, clinically depressed Superman to the screen in his second film with director Mike Judge. From the painful first scene where Superman passes some ‘pretty super kidney stones’ to the final (sort-of) triumphant scene, Jason shows us that even Superman has his limits.
Jeremy Piven ('Rock N' Rolla', 'The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard') co-stars as Superman’s archenemy ‘Lex Luthor’. It’s been years since Lex has done anything evil. Feeling like he’s lost his edge, the billionaire uses next to all of his vast wealth on enhancement surgeries and procedures to finally make him more powerful than he or even Superman used to be.
Carla Gugino ('Watchmen', 'Entourage') plays an early-menopausal ‘Lois Lane’. Frustrated that her body is starting to let go before she is ready to settle down, Lois finds a suitor to her needs and secretly starts an affair with the still finely tuned ‘Green Arrow’.
Matthew McConaughey ('Dazed and Confused', 'Tropic Thunder') guest stars as the dashing ‘Green Arrow’. Over the years, the former Justice League alumni became lazy and started to turn into more of a celebrity than a hero. Even though his aim may be starting to give way, his charm and sexual prowess manage to tear apart the already troubled marriage of Lois and Clark.
Joel McHale ('Community', 'The Onion') plays ‘James “Jimmy” Olsen’. Jimmy became ‘James Olsen’ seven years ago when he was promoted to Chief Editor of the Daily Planet. Jimmy still carries his boyish charm and positive attitude which absolutely baffles his best friend, ‘C.K.’
'Superman Forty' flies into theaters Christmas 2012.
