Yesterday, a source for Schmoes Know.com reported that Jeff Wadlow ("Kick-Ass 2") had signed on to direct Sony's He-Man & The Masters Of The Universe live-action reboot. Today, The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Wadlow has been brought in, but only to rewrite the script, originally penned by Terry Rossio (“The Lone Ranger”).
Jeff Wadlow has come aboard to rewrite Masters of the Universe, Columbia’s big-screen adaptation of the popular 1980s Mattel toyline. At this stage, Wadlow, who wrote and directed Kick-Ass 2, does not have a deal to direct, although that remains a possibility down the road, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

Wadlow, wrote and directed last year's Kick-Ass 2, and had been working on 20th Century Fox's X-Force film. This recent hiring may mean plans for an X-Force are being shelved. Wadlow may not be the director just yet, but Sony needs to find a replacement for Jon M. Chu, who left the project so that he could adapt another popular 80's animated series, Jem & The Holograms.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is an American animated television series (1983-1985). The show, consisting of two 65-episode series, was produced by Filmation, based on the original toyline by Mattel.

I am Adam, prince of Eternia, defender of the secrets of Castle Grayskull. This is Cringer, my fearless friend. Cringer became the mighty Battle Cat, and I became He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe! Only three others share this secret: Our friends, the Sorceress, Man-At-Arms, and Orko. Together we defend Castle Grayskull from the evil forces of Skeletor! - He-Man Wiki

The article states "X-Force may be shelved" I don't believe it until I see it and this could be a publicity deal to get more support for the film. They (FOX) are wanting to expand their franchises and X-Force is really the only way

He-Man got better with the last series that was on Cartoon Network. That's the formula this movie needs to follow.

Dont do any of the crap they did with the first movie, and stay away from the dumb ideas thy have had since when writing those new scripts. Leave the whole movie in the He-Man universe.
