Marvel Studios’ “Iron Man 3” pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy's hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale with Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley, “Iron Man 3” is directed by Shane Black from a screenplay by Drew Pearce and Shane Black and is based on Marvel’s iconic Super Hero Iron Man, who first appeared on the pages of “Tales of Suspense” (#39) in 1963 and had his solo comic book debut with “The Invincible Iron Man” (#1) in May of 1968.

“Iron Man 3” is presented by Marvel Studios in association with Paramount Pictures and DMG Entertainment. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing and Jon Favreau, Louis D'Esposito, Stephen Broussard, Victoria Alonso, Alan Fine, Charles Newirth, Stan Lee and Dan Mintz are executive producers. The film releases May 3, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

We all need to be cheerleaders for any CBM, duh if they all start to fail they will stop making them. Hence I am hoping MOS, Thor 2, and Wolverine to do really good! We know IM3 will make bank at the box office!

Most of us keep forgetting that the movie hasn't been released locally, so most of the 'reviews' you've read are from overseas members of this site. As for the movie, in spite this apparently movie-derailing plot twist, I'm planning on seeing it the day it comes out.

US critics have thrashed this movie. Are US critics generally harder to please? That RT score dropped fast.

LOL. I guess I know why certain posters haven't appeared here yet. Galactus put his foot down.

I personally thought the film was a mixed bag. I didn't particularly like the creative choices Black and company made with Mandarin because they're vision had some serious potential. But to say that Iron Man 3 wasn't a comic book movie misses the point IMO. That film was perhaps the best take on its protagonist hero since Batman Begins in my book. Black went back to the root of the character and really conveyed what makes the character of Tony Stark so unique and interesting as a hero. He was basically the way Batman should be portrayed but with greater tech skills - resourceful, cunning, brilliant, and fearless.

Ben Kingsley's Mandarin is the best thing ever since white bread.

The Greatest villain performance in cinema hands down. What a Boss

Shane Black has delivered a cinema masterpiece.

Nolan can learn one or two lessons from this movie, especially on how to making a spectacular twist.

I give movie based on comics another 3 decades before the genre dies down.Lets face it they been making comic book movies since the 80's.When the hype dies down they're just going to make fewer movie not go away completely.

@TheDickRises: Finally, somebody who says something positive about the twist. I don't mind those, why NOT throw something out there that people aren't expecting. I wish I hadn't found out about it, but all the screaming made it hard to avoid.

Anyway, isn't the movie supposed to be Heavily based on Warren Ellis' Extremis miniseries? If so, why all the storm and stress about the Mandarin? He wasn't in the comic storyline.

RamonSuarez
RamonSuarez - 5/2/2013, 10:26 AM
@skidz

Fact is that Mandarin isn't that important to the Iron Man mythos beyond the origin story. The top 3 all time Iron Man storyarchs--Armor Wars, Demon in a Bottle, Extremis--just don't have him in it.
RamonSuarez
RamonSuarez - 5/2/2013, 10:27 AM
But with that said, if they were going to include him then they should have done a better job then what they did with the character.

And it may just be me, but isn't Tony's 'rogues gallery' a bit thin? How many notable badguys does he actually have to work with to keep this franchise going?
Tempo
Tempo - 5/2/2013, 10:51 AM
Iron Man 3 has so many problems that is useless to list them all, simply is a weak movie and not worth the ticket,I don't care the justification of the director and the producer.
