DC League of Super-Pets was pushed to the #2 spot at the North American box office this past weekend (you can thank Bullet Train for that), but reviews for the movie have been positive. Providing it keeps making money, the animated franchise is likely to continue, and a post-credits scene sets the stage for Superman vs. Black Adam.
Well, and Krypto vs. Anubis!
Dwayne Johnson took to Instagram over the weekend to share the entire sequence, so if you missed it in theaters or just want to check it out, you can do so in the post below. "The world is starting to simmer with excitement about the earth-shattering Superman vs Black Adam showdown one day," the actor's caption reads. "But until then...Black Adam's dog Anubis has a few choice words for SUperman's dog Krypto."
We've been waiting for Superman vs. Black Adam on screen, of course, but little did we know it would happen in animation first. However, recent comments from the pro-wrestler turned actor now make a lot more sense.
During Black Adam's Comic-Con panel in San Diego, Johnson was asked who would win in a fight between the two DC Comics characters. "Pound for pound, they're pretty close. I guess it probably all depends on who's playing Superman. I'll just say that. I'll leave it at that."
Clearly, he was referring to John Krasinski's Man of Steel, and not Henry Cavill's.
Johnson lends his voice to both Krypto and Anubis, but Black Adam doesn't speak in this scene. However, we see that the anti-hero's costume is inspired more by the upcoming movie than what we've seen in the comic books. This is an intriguing crossover, that's for sure!
Black Adam will electrify audiences in theaters when it's released on October 21, later this year!
