EDITORIAL: Are MARVEL Events Even Events Anymore?

Ask yourself were you ever bemused to read a comic in which your favorite hero was turned into a major antagonist or read a comic "Event" that had heroes fighting heroes? Yes....No....Maybe?

I love Marvel, I really do but I hate the direction they've been going in with there events for quite some time. Now don't misinterpret me as a DC fan boy because I'm really impartial, like very. I just think these events every year are getting quite mundane. Especially because very few of these events have been consequential in anyway at all. There is no weight to them. Everything that happens in any of those events gets reconnected before the next event is even out.

Starting with Avengers Disassembled all the way up to Avenger vs X-men there have been to many occasions where heroes fight each other. Not to mention most Marvel events seem to end up turning a hero into a villain:
Scarlet Witch in Avenger Disassemble, Iron Man and Reed Richards in Civil War, The Illuminati(Doctor Strange,Iron Man,Black Bolt, etc)in World War Hulk, and Cyclops and his X-Men in Avenger vs X-Men. Is it just me or am I the only one getting sick and tired of that cycle? I think story wise it would be a much more compelling to read an event that has been building up for a minimum of two years. Similar to the way they set up Civil War except with story arcs not Events(i.e. Avengers Disassembled, Secret Invasion, and House of M all in a way were apart of a grander scheme that lead to Civil War).

With new Marvel events already coming out or being planned such as "Inhumanity" and "Original Sin" I highly doubt they will refine this cash cow gimmick but it doesn't hurt to be vocal about your complaints. So please be vocal in the comment section and if you disagree with the editorial try to give actual constructive criticism.
