Tim Seeley, creator of Hack/Slash comics has a new comic coming out. It's called Wild Game. It is already being coined as 30 Days of Night with werewolves. Underground Films and Daniel Alter are teaming up to produce a live-action big screen version of Wild Game with Kevin Seamus Fahey (Battlestar Galactica) set to write the screen play.

Here is the plot synopsis:

"In a world where Werewolves were long ago hunted nearly to extinction by humans and thought only to be urban legends, the few remaining packs live among us in secret. But, the beast can't be caged forever. Once a year: runaways, homeless people, anyone who won't be missed... are captured and brought to a secluded private destination to be hunted for game by the last living Werewolves on earth."

Bloody Disgusting is also showing some pretty cool preview art for the comic from illustrator Pasquale Qualano.

So, is it a comic inspiring a movie or a movie inspiring a comic? This might be a new trend coming if this and Mark Millar's Nemesis take off.

Werewolves are always a tricky character to bring to the big screen and the synopsis does have the ring of Predator to it so we'll see if this actually gets off the ground.

Tea you just named the only 2 decent Werewolf movie of the last...well since the original Wolfman! AAWIL being not just decent, but a classic of course. I watched a film called Cursed with Cristina Ricci on tv the other night. It was so bad I think it may have been on purpose.

Agreed Ror, I thought the Underworld movies were decent but the werewolves were the weakest part especially them in fight scenes.

I have only seen a handful of good Werewolf movies, just something about them that comes off bad.

Speaking of the supernatural! Check out my new short story in fan fic

Ghosts of Yesterday (Featuring Zatanna and Question)

It features Zatanna and the Question teaming up to stop the ghost of a rapist that has an obsession with one young girl.

It is unlike anything I have ever written, it is a twisting emotional tale. I recommend you check it out!

holy shit, cursed, that was so horrible I had completely blocked it out of mind. thanks for making me relive that horrible experience.

only read one issue of hack/slash, got it at free comic book day awhile back. I liked that so I'll give this a shot. could be good. only time will tell

Seems like someone stuck "Most Dangerous Game" in the blender with "The Howling"... could actually be pretty good.

I liked the Underworld movies, but maybe someone should try more of a humaniod type werewolf. Maybe the powers of the wolf but not so much hair...LOL I DONT KNOW what's missing.

I think what kinda didnt set too well with me about
Underworld was the complete transformation from human to wolf.

Maybe if in a movie the wolf kept some it's human traits
it would be alot more interesting....I dont really know,
but usually I agree something about werewolf movies comes off a little wrong to me also. I know Im repeating myself.

TEEN WOLF does it even count? I mean it's not in the same
class as a Underworld , Howling,or Wolfman it's a kiddie movie LOL.

@BLADE44--I have to point out something you said that many other people feel, but that irritates me to no end. What a werewolf IS, in the mythological sense, is a man that turns into a wolf. Completely.

So, when you say that what didn't "set too well" with you about Underworld was "the complete transformation from human to wolf" (which didn't happen in those movies, they were half wolf-half man...leaning more towards wolf) you're saying you didn't like it because you don't like the concept of werewolves, which is okay... I mean, not everyone likes the same things, but that's like me saying I loved batman, but hated "Batman Begins" because it was about a rich orphan who fought crime dressed like a bat.

Also, what about "Wolf"? I mean, the effects were sort of a cop-out (especially considering they were from Rick Baker, who...well, you know who Rick Baker is...) but where else are you going to see Jack Nicholson as a werewolf?

@teabag--he looked like Wolverine that had let himself go, and Spader looked like a pansy version of Sabertooth, so...there's that, but I honestly thought that as far as acting goes, it's one of the best acted werewolf movies around.

CONTRAST: I hear you and I understand what a werwolf is
Im just saying so far HOLLYWOOD isnt getting it quite right. Maybe thats why it's not really coming across the way it should . I guess that's why I like VAMPIRES better way easier to translate on film.

@Teabag--Ooh, ooh, I do! *raises hand like an idiot*

It's further proof that Fox's television has always been better than their movies, if even just a little bit...

@teabag--it's all good, because "The Incredible Hulk" was basically "The Fugitive"...

The bleeding pentagram certainly sticks out in my mind.
