Live Action Star Wars TV Series Casting Call

Live Action Star Wars TV Series Casting Call

As long as this TV series keeps a serious tone and doesn't turn into a kiddie fest with Jar Jar Binks and bubble gum, we could be watching Star Wars on the little screen.

MTV.com reported earlier that George Lucas is officially Casting for the Live Action Star Wars TV series.

"A live-action TV series set in the “Star Wars” cosmos has been an elusive, tantalizing prospect for years. News of the potential production first surfaced in 2005 while George Lucas was promoting “Revenge of the Sith.” Work on the “Clones Wars” animated feature film and Cartoon Network series, though, took creative precedence. In late 2007, Lucas revealed that he and his team were about to begin writing scripts for the live-action show. Now MTV News has learned that casting for the series is currently underway."
Sweet!!!! Its been a long time running that we have heard any news regarding this project. They go on to say" According to Lucas, the show will focus on minor characters from the saga and be set in the time period between “Revenge of the Sith” (Episode III) and the original “Star Wars” (Episode IV). The action will follow the Rebel Alliance as it slowly gains strength against the Empire. There will be Stormtroopers, but no Jedi or Darth Vader will appear on screen. As he did with the “Clone Wars” series, Lucas will write and shoot an entire year’s worth of episodes before looking for a cable channel on which to air the series."

Hell yes!!! As long as George Lucas is not directing this show, it will be a hit!! Cant wait for the Video Games that will spawn off of this TV Series. As long as this TV series keeps a serious tone and doesn't turn into a kiddie fest of Jar Jar Binks and bubble gum we could be watching Star Wars on the little screen for quite a while.

My only wish is that Mr Lucas would do a computer generated movie or at least a video game adaption for the Timothy Zahn books referred to as The Thrawn Trilogy, and the Dark Empire Comics that came out in the 90's from Dark horse. Come on Mr Lucas, just because you didn't think of these two ideas doesn't mean you cant show them to the world.
