Dan Dare, omg. I wonder if those squiggly eyebrows are hereditary? I just picked a few of these up along with a few classic Judge Dredd and Strontium Dog. I've never explored any uk comics and decided to pick up some old ones. So far they're all pretty laughable but I have to remember it was the 80s and pretty much everything back then was laughable but good at the same time.

Dan Dare is the Man! Trust the Americans to know nothing about one of the biggest cult comics in the world. By the way, Dan Dare was created in the 1950s - a time when the rest of the world were still reeling from WWII and the Americans were sitting pretty behind their A-Bomb and white picket fences dreaming up such classic ideas such as underwater cities and populating Mars. Something the writer/artist that created Dan Dare tapped into. Personally I feel it would make for an awesome movie - much more imaginative than John Carter of Mars. As for Sam playing the famous pilot - he certainly has the jawline, but none of the humour. A poor choice.

leee777 i think your right he is way better then everyone on that list i dont care if he is an american or not!

Some of you are ignoring the fact that Worthington couldn't hold an American accent/voice if his life depended on it, so in his case not being an American makes a big difference.

MadDizzle - 3/13/2010, 9:51 AM
im not sure how true this is, there is nothing on IMDB for sam or a dan dare movie, so im calling bullshit.

MadDizzle. Bale can speak perfect American English. Worthington is....pathetic in delivering any dialect perfectly, other than his own. Big difference. Batman isn't Captain AMERICA. Add in the the fact Worthington doesn't look like Cap.

Wake up die hard Sam lovers!!! He is too damn Short and looks nothing like Cap. Picking him to play Captain America is same as picking Jackie Chan to play Cap. They both are short, heavy accents, looks nothing like Cap,and they are not an american actors. Hello!!! comic fans, Captain America is an american born superhero and there are many fine american actors out there can play perfect Cap. Ranger14 is sooo right Sam Worthington, he is pathetic
