Seth Rogen Rips Into Brett Ratner & Others In His Hilarious INDEPENDENT SPIRIT AWARDS Monologue

The Green Hornet himself was the host for the 2012 Independent Spirit Awards, and he pulled no punches in his opening monologue. Among those on the receiving end were Ratner, Chris Brown and Man Of Steel's Michael Shannon...

The Independent Spirit Awards champions the indie movie, and in many ways are the antithesis of The Academy Awards. This year in particular, movies many felt were snubbed by The Oscars such as Drive, Take Shelter, Shame, and Martha Macy May Marlene were recognized. Seth Rogen was the presenter, and although a few of his jokes failed to hit the mark, I think his opening monologue is pretty damn funny, if a little juvenile! He takes swipes at the man CBM loves to hate, Brett Ratner, as well as Chris Brown, Mel Gibson and a good natured jab at General Zod (aka Michael Shannon) is also a highlight. Check it out..

He did falter at the beginning, but I thought he pulled it together very well..and was honest and funny. He's a juvenile [frick]er too of course, how many dick jokes was that?

I totally forgot Jonathan Groff and Zachary Quinto are good friends.
Michael Shannon looks sooooo bored out of his [frick]ing mind. (He also looks very predatory, which...really isn't new).
I'm surprised Joseph Gordon-Levitt didn't go apeshit on his Tumblr account about the Spirit Awards, like he does with EVERYHTING ELSE.
Yay, Jason Isaacs and Wilmer Valderrama. I'm hoping Awake does well.
Loving the dig at Chris Brown as much as the next human being.
William H. Macy's facial hair is insane. And distracting.
Kirsten Dunst actually looks like a person, for once. No, really, she looks really really good.
The dig at Mel Gibson, another win.
"Wanted to hug him, then kiss him, and then undress him and [frick] the shit out of him." Yes, that is a good goal for a movie to have, Seth Rogen.
MICHAEL SHANNON PULLS OUT A BUTTER KNIFE, PEOPLE. At least make it to the 9:34 mark, if only to see that.
The dick jokes are astounding.
Denis Leary's glasses are so thick, his eyes look like they're being squeezed out from their sockets.
Christopher Plummer is such a dazzling old guy.
Seth Rogan's laugh needs some help.

lol at the Michael Shannon comment and a lot of the others! I really enjoy Rogen's sense of humor and his delivery.

Seeing Seth Rogen's wife makes me wish someone would shoot me in the face. Seriously! How the F@#$?!! He sounds like the love child of Kermit and Fozzy. Looks like bastard child of Miss Piggy and Fozzy. He also has been skating of the success of his co-stars and is being held up by Judd Apatow. Not funny, at all. He's awkward because he doesn't know what he is doing.

Poor Seth, he just continues to not be funny at all. He needs to hire better comedy writers if he really wants to stay in comedy. Maybe stick with physical comedy.
