UPDATE: 2/8/2010 - Thank you all for your patience as we negotiated with our advertising reps. You'll now notice that the audio on The Wolfman ad is "user-initiated" NOT automatic. We've also taken steps to reduce the number of ads that automatically expand across the page and cover up our content.

We know that the audio and expanding ads are pissing people off, so we are taking action to get them turned off or down so as not to annoy our loyal readers.

While we don't have total control over the ads that show on our site, we have spoken to our ad rep about the problem and you should have a much less annoying user experience soon.

cool! That was driving me nuts. I had to keep lowering the volume every time I look at the site.

It was really just the Wolfman ad that was causing the problem

Although the recent wolfman ones weren't as annoying as the 9 ones the constant loop on every page was a bit much.

FINALLY!! I actually started spending less time on the site because of the ads, CONSTANTLY LOOPING over and over...so annoying when you are on multiple sites, tryin to listen to music or video while on here...good move..I'll spend more time here...

I had to get an ad blocker to stop those ones that were like the 9 and Wolfman ads those would start to lag my comp when I had a bunch of articles open and would refresh them all to see if anyone had commented, but every time a new one comes out I have to do it again... thanks for helping.

the video ads toally lag everything im doing all the time. not trying to complain so im happy it was brought to light by others so that i dont hear people telling me that if i dont like the ads that i should stay off the site or something. i know how easily offended some on here are. :-P

I Liked the ad's....don't do it!!!! Specially when you had the Wolverine Origins one...I could watch it all day!!!

Hey guys, long time watcher first time poster. Maybe it’s the blood in my alcohol, but this is the first article that has compelled me to register. Can you tell your 'ad rep' that I was thoroughly looking forward to watching the movie 9. That was until I navigated this site and suffered the wrath of its relentless advertising. God forbid you should open multiple tabs (as is my browsing style). Seriously, if I hear about the earth ending and some nonsense about the final days of humanity one more time... Anyway..
