Why THE QUESTION Should Grace The Silver Screen

Why THE QUESTION Should Grace The Silver Screen

The Question is a character that I would love to see on the big screen. I know he is not a house hold name, but if you are a fan of movies like Kiss the Girls or Sherlock Holmes then you would love him.

The first time I saw The Question was on Justice League: Unlimited and he held his own and truly served a purpose. The Question is a very skilled detective that rivals even Batman. Also he is skilled in hand to hand combat not to mention possesses computer skills to break any encryption set on any super computer.

Now that I established he has the skills to hold his own, lets get into the wide array of original stories you could use to present this character to the world. I know he is not box office but he has the same potential that Ironman had when it was released back in 2008. I know Ironman is way more established than the Question but if done right then the franchise could spawn into a trilogy. Another factor that can help make the movie better is the use of current events to tell the story.

The Question is the conspiracy theorist of the DC universe so using such events as 9/11, the Kennedy Assassination, Area 51, or Illuminati could help. The formula for making these movies a success changes a little with every movie made. Everything has been done and redone which makes coming up with something in a movie that will surprise your audience is truly difficult. So coming up with concepts that will get that reaction from your audience is a little easier with a character like the Question.

The Question can leave you asking questions during the movie like who is the bad guy and will he or wont he. Going dark seems to be the theme that DC is going with and this is a character that can do dark but can make you laugh at the same time as well. You can relate to this character, seeing that he has no superpowers and the threats can hit home because he can be taken out with ease just like you and me.

This is a character that has the potential to be just as successful as the John McClane character in the Die Hard series. So in closing The Question is a entertaining character that can help expand the DCCU by crossing paths with characters like Wildcat, The Huntress, Green Arrow, Steel, or Vandal Savage. The possibilities are endless.

While I would love this, here's the problem...Rorschach was heavily inspired by the question so general audience would think of him as a rip-off, while there could be an argument that watchmen wasn't that successful so it could be gotten away with, there would still be those people, and it would not only steer audience away, but the studio would be afraid to make such a film as a result.

Okay, who exactly is the question, why does he have such a stupid name, and why would we want a movie about a comic book hero that I can guarantee at least 90% of movie fans have never heard about? Seriously, not every single comic book character should get their own movie, or be in someone else's movie.

Thee Queshtion doesh not need a deshignated villain. If you cahn believe it, *sssskkkkhaaaawwwwhhhh*, he ish even moar of ay shmahrt-ahss in the comicsh than in the car-toon. Keep him ay-away from Huntresh, though.

I enjoy the character of the Question a lot but I don't think he is right for a film by himself. Maybe have him help out Batman. But when there are so many other DC characters that need a movie I would not want to see one of his first.

I could see him appearing in different DC films though. Think cameos in the next Superman, Batman & other DC films. The general audience would not know who he is but for fans of comics they would. You could see him taking pictures in key scenes from the films or hiding in the background. But I really don't want to see more then that now. Maybe when WB has fleshed out their DC cinematic universe but not now.

If you have a Question movie, Huntress, Lady Shiva and Richard Dragon must be in it.

Well, Jonah Hex wasn't a well known character, but that didn't stop them from making that crappy movie movie. The Rorschach comparisons would be a problem but I think they could pull it off. It may not be a box office hit but it could work. Constantine wasn't a multi-million dollar draw but it was a good movie so you could get away with doing a Question movie.
