The movie may have been poor, but the game was an entirely different story.I sat down playing this game for the first time after watching the trailer so many times, and in my anxiety to play it I found I was....Deeply satisfied.I loved pretty much everything in it.Here is the list of what made this game so awesome.
1.Thomas Jane's voice.
I did like Thomas Jane's Punisher and I valued him as an actor from so many movies to The Punisher and GUN voice-overs.The game would not have been the same without his voicing. It was like a sequel in a sense because it takes place after the film.(So, Thomas Jane did get his sequel!).
2.The Story.
One of the most dominant features of this game were the elegant and extremely detailed story from the comics themselves, which had me liking the game more and more as I was actually replaying my favorite Punisher stories. With every mission, came more and more excitement and joy that this game wasn't poorly done and rushed through.
3.The upgradable weapons and features.
I love anything to where I can upgrade and be able to see and use those upgrades, in which the developers took a great advantage of for this game. From health increasers to attaching grenade launchers on some weapons, this game had it all. There was even a Kill Recovery upgrade!!
4.The bosses.
This game had them all...Bushwacker,Kingpin,Bullseye,and Jigsaw just to name a few. This added such an enriching feel to the game, as I knew who everyone of these bosses were and I equally enjoyed fighting them. This was quite a treat for me as I loved taking on some of these classic villains as The Punisher.
5.The score multiplier.
It was so satisfying to build up kills and combos and see it all in great big numbers for me to spend on upgrades and this indeed, made every killing so beneficial and gave every killing a purpose.I felt good about myself every time I made a big score, because I know that that score was my work and was so worth it at the end of every mission to see my points build up for upgrades.
6.The interrogations and special kills.
being one of the greatest Punisher fans out there, I especially enjoyed this feature.I interrogated and special killed my way through that game, and wanted to do it again, because it was so creative and cool to see.there were literally more than 100 ways to punish crime in this game and I don't even think I've exploited all of them.(and I have played this game for years.)
7.Cameos.
The Punisher was not alone in his little adventure, as Iron Man,Black Widow,Nick Fury, and even Matt Murdock made appearances in this game.Teaming with ol' Fury himself to fight crime was probably one of the greatest scenes in video game history.(as far as comic book games go.)As for Black Widow, fighting crime with her was...exciting.Seeing Iron Man shoot down an enemy helicopter for you...No words can describe the awesomeness of that.
8.The vast variety of weapons.
This was a plus, knowing that as my most favorite vigilante, I had a huge investment of guns from .50 caliber Hand cannons to even a Rocket Launcher, there are so many ways to deeply enjoy this game, as there is sure to be a gun that you will want to use.
9.Dual wield.
I love anything that lets you use this feature, because you can get alot diminished with a gun in each hand.It is so rewarding to mow down enemies with not one but TWO .50 caliber machine guns.It is so great to just stand there and shoot, watching your enemies plowed down in a field of bullets.
10.Last but not least, the extras.
This was an added bonus to avid Punisher fans such as myself. There is so many things to unlock from the mini-games within each mission briefing, from concept art to almost every Punisher comic cover out there. There is CGI movies to view as well as a trailer for Thomas Jane's movie. The greatest thing on the extras menu? The cheats!!
with all of that stated, I truly recommend this game as one of the greatest marvel games out there. If you enjoyed the movies and books and never played this game? From one fan to another...you NEED to.'nuff said!
I hope you enjoyed this review and I wish to all:
Good day peeps!
