Colin Trevorrow Confirms That The Original T-Rex Will Return For JURASSIC WORLD

In a new interview with SlashFilm, Colin Trevorrow confirmed that the Tyrannosaurus Rex from Steven Spielberg‘s Jurassic Park will be making her return in Jurassic World. “The T. rex that’s in the film is the T. rex from the original Jurassic Park. She is 22 years older. But she’s not limping around.” He then added, "She's still alive. She’s a little older, and she’s angry." When asked whether or not we’d notice that it’s the same T-Rex, he responded, “I hope so. Yeah. I mean, we took the original design and obviously, technology has changed. So, it’s going to move a little bit differently, but it’ll move differently because it’s older. And we’re giving her some scars and we’re tightening her skin. So, she has that feeling of, like, an older Burt Lancaster. And this movie is her Unforgiven.”

What role will the T-Rex have in the film? A fight? A bite? Or will she just show and go. At this point, it could be anything, but I have a feeling that her role or scenes in the film will be pretty big! Speaking of “big scenes,” Colin Trevorrow also revealed that the Ankylosaurus will have a big scene in the film and said that there will be big appearances in the film and some that are small. “There’s an Ankylosaurus in this movie; was a really big scene and that’s just a bad ass dinosaur. And there are others. There’s smaller appearances, some bigger appearances.” He then elaborated and gave us a brief headcount of some of the dinosaurs in the film. “You know, we have an underwater reptile. I’m sure you’ve heard about that. That thing is pretty cool. We have a new kind of flying dinosaur that no one’s ever seen before, you know, in addition to the Pteranodons that are really scary. And I didn’t want to just throw the kitchen sink at it. Each of these movies has done a good job at just very carefully, in a measured way, increasing the new dinosaurs that you see. But, there’s a lot of dinosaurs in the movie for sure.”

I’m sure this will come across as great news for the many fans of the franchise. The original T-rex will return and hopefully she’ll make her presence felt! A scene will the Indominus Rex maybe? Whatever the case is, I’m sure the T-rex will bring some great action to Jurassic World! What thing would you want to see the T-rex do in the film? With Jurassic World set to hit theaters June 12, sound off below with your thoughts!

I'm just thinking.

Weren't the Dinosaurs in JP1 like aged? Like didn't they make them age faster so to speak? Kind of like the Clone Troopers in Star Wars.

This film takes place 20 years later.

The average life span for a T-Rex is 30 years. So logically wouldn't this T-Rex be died?

@JoeMomma29

I find it funny how over the years, Whedon has said shit about great sequels. He's talked crap about The Dark Knight, Empire Strikes Back, and Indiana Jones Temple of Doom and yet his sequel got nowhere near as much praise as those sequels.

@Levi

Are you getting the dinos confused with the clone troopers from SW?

@JoeMomma29

No but the Dinosaurs in JP1 were genetically modified. I don't know how long childhood or that stuff is for Dinosaurs but I always thought perhaps they modified the dinosaurs to age faster you know?

@Levi

LOL! I was just teasing.

Actually they were modified with Frogs DNA to fill in the gaps, hence why they were able to mate and have offspring even though they were designed to be sterile!

I'm with Levi and think the T-Rex should be dead by now.
