How Many Post-Credits Scenes Does AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER Have? Here's Your Spoiler-Free Answer!

Avatar: The Way of Water has finally started rolling out into theaters, and the 13-year wait for this sequel was definitely worth it based on early reactions and reviews.

Another technologically groundbreaking marvel from filmmaker James Cameron, Avatar: The Way of Water is the first in a number of sequels heading our way. Avatar 3 has already been shot and is expected to be released this time next year, while at least some of the fourth movie is in the can (and waiting for the green light from Disney).

With that in mind, common sense says Avatar: The Way of Water sets the stage for at least one of Cameron's three follow-ups, but does it do so with a must-see post-credits scene?

Avatar: The Way of Water, which already clocks in at over three hours long, does not have any post-credits scenes. We aren't surprised Cameron hasn't chosen to follow in the MCU's footsteps, and the sequel is long enough without us being expected to sit through the credits too (though you can always do so if you want to see who worked on the movie).

In a recent interview with Digital Spy (via SFFGazette.com), the director confirmed that he never planned to include anything extra once the credits roll.

"There are unanswered questions by design. There are a lot of answered questions. And the specific proximal threat of this story is resolved, right?" Cameron said. "So it's more like episodic television in the sense that the characters are the characters. The characters have their problems, and those problems will persist, and they'll get resolved over multiple films."

"But the specific threat of the specific moment will always be resolved," he continued. "And that's our motif that we applied to these films."

Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, the sequel begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive,  and the tragedies they endure.

Avatar: The Way of Water splashes down in theaters worldwide on December 16.

I saw Avatar: The Way of Water yesterday on a DOLBY CINEMA 3D COMPLETELY CAPTIVATING I-Max screen truly AWESOME movie. Lots of action and the 3D blows away the first movie. 3 hours and 12 minutes flew by with lots of action and 3D imagery. Will see it again 10 Stars out of 10 Stars :)

Report: Avatar: The Way of Water Takes $17M Domestic Previews, reaches $50.4M Internationally, Plus China’s Early $18.5M Opening Day Estimate.

Friday Update: Disney reports this morning that Avatar: The Way of Water earned $17 million from domestic previews beginning at 3pm on Thursday, while reaching $50.4 million after two days of international play from 44 markets.

That excludes a preliminary opening day projection of $18.5 million from China.

On the home front, Water‘s $17 million previews are mostly in line with realistic expectations.

That figure comes in 14 percent ahead of Top Gun: Maverick‘s Thursday-only preview gross of $14.9 million (excluding $4.4 million from its Tuesday and Wednesday shows), 6 percent behind Jurassic World Dominion‘s $18 million Thursday previews (held midsummer when school was out), and just 3 percent behind The Batman ($17.6 million from Thursday only).

For Thursday night, the studio reports that 61 percent of business came from 3D showtimes: 29 percent from traditional 3D, 15 percent from IMAX 3D, 14 percent from PLF, and 3 percent from Motion 3D.

Josh literally posted an article with a tease who's answer was "none" making the entire article pointless.

He is truly the king of clickbait.

I’m over post credits scenes now, especially the ones that make you sit through the entire credits and are pointless or uninteresting after waiting that whole time….and most of them are.x

It used to be a Marvel thing. Now everybody is doing it,

I’ll look up the post credits scene online later. I’d rather leave the theater and get home or watch it on streaming and the. Fast forward to the ridiculously long credits filled with names of people about whom I couldn’t care,

I mean, does he ever do post credits scenes? Other than True Lies.

Unpopular opinion: it wasn’t that great.

Visually, it’s stunning as expected. But the story is bloated with too much unnecessary filler. I feel like the movie could’ve been half an hour shorter and it wouldn’t have made a blind bit of difference.

I don't usually comment on such things but to create a lengthy article asking a question which has no answer...

Tire lies has a post credit scene in it? Or are you talking about when Arnold takes Jamie Lee Curtis undercover and they go dancing on the dance floor and Tom Arnold squawking in their ears? Cuz that’s def not a post credit scene
