For our second and final studio presentation of the day, we have Universal Pictures and Focus Features showing off their impressive upcoming slate, which is headlined by Jurassic World: Dominion!

We draw to a close on CinemaCon Day 3 with Universal Pictures and Focus Features!

Universal's presentation should be the biggest we've seen thus far as the studio introduces footage from a myriad of films, none bigger than Colin Trevorrow's upcoming threequel Jurassic World: Dominion. What we'll get from that film remains to be seen, but an extended sneak peek is all but guaranteed.

We're also expecting a new trailer for Jordan Peele's Nope, and it's probably a safe bet that we'll get the first teaser trailer for Halloween Ends, which is due out this fall. Jason Blum is in Vegas, so we should be getting a sneak peek at what he's been cooking up, outside of The Black Phone.

Follow along below for all the biggest updates and leave your comments in the usual space!

Can't wait to see how this ENDS and if it actually ends or if it sets up more sequels

I hope it ends and we wait for a reboot years later💪

Lots of ways they could take the story with this one

@regularmovieguy - how anyone could be hyped after the last one surprises me. Don't get your hopes up

@Godzilla2000Zer - same here! And while they were mostly different from the books, those movies were still phenomenal (well the first 3 movies)

With the way Halloween Kills ended I don't think there is much Halloween Ends can do to end the franchise. I felt the entire towns folk beating Michael to death should have been the ending to the Ends. But we shall see what they have in store.

@SonOfAGif -

He can move to the next town💁
SonOfAGif
SonOfAGif - 4/27/2022, 7:47 PM
@AmazingFILMporg - And even that won't be impactful. I just feel like with Michael Myers you can only do a trilogy and have it work. And I think Halloween kills should have been the end but they had him turn super Saiyan for the finale.
PartyKiller

@SonOfAGif - The beat down made little sense after Myers destroyed the firefighters as he did.

Halloween Kills was horrible.

SonOfAGif - 4/27/2022, 8:20 PM
@PartyKiller - It's funny you say that because when I saw the original trailer, I made a scenario in my head of how he would have survived. And then the studio decided to go full fledged battle royale instead of stealth horror. I originally thought he was going to pull down the first firefighter and then pick them off one by one and steal the firetruck. But you saw how it turned out instead.

(Slightly) off-topic: Universal apparently spending up to $1 million a day to keep Fast X cast and crew in limbo until they find a new director.

Yikes😐...

This is a disaster
MUTO123
MUTO123 - 4/27/2022, 11:02 PM
@AmazingFILMporg - And they're lucky it's only this much. Lin apparently left early enough to where they haven't started shooting any big set pieces yet, which would've made this whole thing even MORE expensive.
AmazingFILMporg
AmazingFILMporg - 4/27/2022, 11:07 PM
@MUTO123 -

After reading into it it doesn't seem that bad actually. Still not a good look but sources say he left a few days back and they're just announcing it now so universal has a head start on finding a new director .

All the previous f&f directors are busy right now so it will have to be a new director to the franchise.
MUTO123
MUTO123 - 4/27/2022, 11:12 PM
@AmazingFILMporg - Yeah, everyone else who's done one is either busy, dead, or in trouble for raping their daughter and several other women.

Whoever they get is gonna have to do whatever Vin says no questions asked.
AmazingFILMporg
AmazingFILMporg - 4/27/2022, 11:54 PM
@MUTO123 -

Vin should just do his directional debut💁

Vin seems like multiverse Feige 🥲
MUTO123
MUTO123 - 4/27/2022, 11:58 PM
@AmazingFILMporg - He can't. There's a rule in place saying that if a director leaves/gets fired from a movie after shooting's already started, it can't then be directed by someone already involved with the movie. It's called the Eastwood Rule, because when they were making Outlaw Josey Wales, Clint Eastwood fired the original director during shooting and finished the movie himself, and the DGA was so pissed off that they created the rule to prevent something like that from ever happening again.

OT: but man it feels like the Disney plus discussions peaked at wandavision. We really only get 1 or 2 threads for moon knight, not too many theories. Cmon. I use to stay up until 2 to watch wandavision just so I wouldn't miss the discussions
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 4/28/2022, 3:38 AM
@MyCoolYoung - I think one article per episode is more than enough. It was kinda confusing we had up to three articles where we could discuss things.

That said, you won't find me in any. The weekly discussions were fun indeed, but now I'm just for all episodes to be online so I can binge it with Disney+ shows.
MyCoolYoung
MyCoolYoung - 4/28/2022, 9:10 AM
@bkmeijer1 - so you haven't seen none of the episodes? That's some discipline
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 4/28/2022, 9:14 AM
@MyCoolYoung - I did weekly watches up until Hawkeye, but not with Boba Fett and Moon Knight I'm decided to wait for all episodes to be online to watch them.

I'm so dedicated in putting them off, I actually still haven't watched Boba Fett. Think in part that might due to there being no articles to share discussions on. It's indeed not really prompting to watch right away.
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 4/28/2022, 3:41 AM
Between this, Disney and WB, I'm surprised how few movies there are I actually wanna see on the big screen. Think I can't even make it to a top 10.
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 4/28/2022, 3:48 AM
Okay, I think I can make a top 10 (in order of release):

1. Jurassic World Dominion
2. Lightyear
3. Thor: Love & Thunder
4. Strange World
5. Avatar 2
6. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
7. Indiana Jones 5
8. Oppenheimer
9. Dune Part 2
10. Rogue Squadron (if it happens)
