"How are we going to get out of this one?" - That's a good question, Kirk.

Star Trek Beyond will pick up about two-to-three years after Stak Trek: Into Darkness ended, with the USS Enterprise crew now halfway into their five-year mission. Everything is going just dandy too until their ship is destroyed by an unknown fleet of aliens, led by the villainous Krall, who the trailers seem to suggest maybe has some sort of personal vendetta against Kirk. Check out the two new TV spots below:

After stopping off at Starbase Earhart, a remote outpost on the fringes of Federation space, the USS Enterprise, halfway into their five-year mission, is destroyed by a powerful, unstoppable wave of unknown aliens. With the crew stranded on a unknown planet and with no apparent means of rescue, they find themselves in conflict with a new ruthless enemy who has a well-earned hatred of the Federation and what it stands for.

Star Trek Beyond will feature:
Director: Justin Lin
Chris Pine as Captain James T. Kirk
Zachary Quinto as Commander Spock
Zoe Saldana as LT Nyota Uhura
Karl Urban as LCDR Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy
Simon Pegg as LCDR Montgomery "Scotty" Scott
John Cho as LT Hikaru Sulu
Anton Yelchin as Ensign Pavel Chekov
Idris Elba as Krall
Sofia Boutella as Jaylah
Joe Taslim in an undisclosed role
Lydia Wilson in an undisclosed role
Harpreet Sandhu in an undisclosed role
Deep Roy as Keenser
Shohreh Aghdaashloo as High Command of the Federation

Star Trek Beyond boldly goes where no man has gone before July 22

hopefully Quinto dials it down several notches on this one. WAY too emotional for Spock.

@FishyZombie - And unlike Shatner's Kirk, who always found a clever way out of an impossible situation, Pine comes off as an incompetent screw up ("I don't know what to do Spock" he said in that last one). No you're Captain friggin Kirk! You are the ONLY one who knows what to do! I wanted Spock to slap him when he said that. Seriously, in this universe there is literally no reason that version of Kirk should be captain. None at all! Kirk is supposed to show Spock that despite all his logic, sometimes you have to go from your gut to win the day. The kirk in these movies is written as nothing more then a lucky screw up

If they still had money in that future, all the Starship mechanics/builders would be billionaires.

The Enterprise blows up every other star-date now.

I like how Paramount suddenly remembered how close the movie is to release and how no like liked trailer 1 and now they're all "WE HAVE TO MAKE SURE PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THIS!!! EVERYTHING MUST LOOK AWESOME!!!"

And I think it does.

Is it me or does he lose his ship every movie. He spends most of the time losing his ship then trying to get it back.

@StaticShock86 - Kirk drinks way too much romulan rum to not lose his ship

@blockbuster10 Completely agree. There was at some point in the last one where uhura was telling Kirk what to do. The admirals daughter had to tell kirk to let her speak her father to try to save the ship. Spock was way too emotional and more on the aggressive side a lot in the both films. Kirk got kicked off the ship and old spock had to tell him what to do in the first film. Scotty very disrespectful toward Kirk after deciding to leave the enterprise when disagreeing with what Kirk wanted to do in the last film when speaking on the communicator. The old crew would never behave like that. Kirk telling Spock he didn't know what to do. And many other things I picked up on. As someone who has all the old episodes and old movies the character changes are very obvious but Kirk is totally not Kirk. Spock was more Kirk than Kirk in the last film. I don't think anyone would want to follow him anywhere. Especially into Space.
