This looks visually and production design very uninspired.

Looks very good, but i don't like the I-kill-with-my-heart line, is this line from the books?

@IcemanX - That it is.

Does the movie take place after the books?

@IcemanX - Yeah. Some of the shots clearly show that Roland has the Horn of Eld.

I really want this to be good. I just am scared because they haven't shown us hardly anything from this movie. I don't know how this will turn out.

I never read these novels and I haven't seen the trailer yet... but I just have this gut feeling this movie is not going to be very well received.

I dunno man, I was quite interested in this movie concept-wise but the trailers aren't doing it for me.

So many blockbusters at the moment have this generic one-size-fits all vibe to them. It's like they're all done by the same cinematographer and director. Like everyone is afraid of taking a single risk and showing some style.

I'm actually curious about wether studios enforce this. Look at Joss Whedon's Firefly for an example. Visually gorgeous show with this lived-in, warm golds and browns western look and beautiful music. Then he got the movie and it lost all that and had a generic cold blues space look, with futuristic music. Looks like any other blockbuster. Did he choose to drop what made the show look great? Or was he told to make it more appealing to 'general audiences'?

Few great exceptions recently have been Skyfall, The Guest, It Follows, Kong Skull island (suprisingly), Guardians of the Galaxy, Fury Road, the Nice Guys.
