BOX OFFICE: THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Tracking Hints At $95 Million Opening Weekend

While some fans have claimed that they're not all that desperate to see The Amazing Spider-Man 2 based on how much footage has been released for the sequel, tracking indicates that it will have a big opening in two weeks time...possibly even bigger than Captain America: The Winter Soldier!

Spider-Man is one of the world's most iconic superheroes, so perhaps it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 looks set for a huge opening weekend! Despite negative buzz from some fans here on CBM and on Twitter about the huge nuber of TV spots, trailers and featurettes which have seemingly left little to see in the movie itself, The Wrap reports that the sequel's tracking indicates an opening of around $95 million. That puts it at around the same amount as Captain America: The Winter Soldier's $96 million debut, but BoxOffice.com believes that it could open to as much as $112 million. That's just the result Sony are looking for, especially as they've already dated The Amazing Spider-Man 3 for 2016 and The Sinister Six or Venom for 2018. Tracking is sometimes unreliable, so the sequel could open with more or less than the numbers above based on word of mouth and its international debut.

That is a low number for being one of the biggest characters Marvel owns. I'm not sure if the reason it's that low is because it's not a Marvel studios Marvel movie. I haven't seen any really trailers on tv. I have watched most of the trailers on IMDB. Maybe that's why the number is so low. No advertisement for this movie.

See this is exactly why I think Superman vs Batman will destroy whatever competition it has.

It didn't even matter that the first movie was pointless and this looks like a video game cause the general audience is in love with Spiderman, and I think even more so Batman.

The whole marketing team behind this movie should be fired.

for the 3 day weekend for TASM, it made $62 Million. $95 million is great for Spidey.

I don't think some of y'all are realistic with y'all expectations...

By my rule I will not see any marvel movie in the theater if it is not made by marvel just because if everyone did that he could join the Avengers .

Its not surprising but I doubt people will see it once, twice, and three times like Cap 2. Spidey will get major back for the first maybe two weeks, maybe be number one in the world for a bit, but Cap 2 wins in the end.

They care more about the general audience than us soo while we might not like it, they will. Theres more of them than us. Were outnumbered! I'll save my judgment til may
