SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME Concept Art Reveals More Crazy Illusions And Alternate Takes On The Final Battle

Another batch of Spider-Man: Far From Home concept art has found its way online to coincide with the movie's Digital release, and it shows the web-slinger battling some monstrous, massive spiders...

Spider-Man: Far From Home is now available on Digital platforms, and concept artist Henrik Tamm has revealed even more of his work from the final Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures collaboration.

We kick things off with some crazy illusion sequences, as Peter Parker finds himself trapped in various mazes and in battles against gigantic spiders clearly desperate to ensnare him in their webs. Then, we have some different takes on the final battle as the web-slinger goes head to head with some gigantic Elementals (not to mention Mysterio's drones).

There are also some amazing pieces showing Aunt May testing out Spider-Man's "Peter-Tingle" and Quentin Beck seemingly trying to escape the hero's clutches via one of those drones.

At first viewing I walked out of FFH blown away by what they did with the movie, but also somewhat disappointed that the usually elaborate Mysterio illusions really boiled down to 'really complex drone usage', but since I've gotten to rewatch the illusion scene and the final battle I'm even more impressed with how tense and relentless they made that. I think I still would've preferred more traditional and elaborate illusions, but they really got way more out of that concept than they had any right to

Rewatched this and finally finished it last night.

The last third of the movie is soooo much better than the first two thirds. Love the final act though. After Mysterio's turn the movie definitely picked up and Jake G was fantastic...you could tell he was having a blast.

Still not the best Spidey movie and I think I'd rank it below Homecoming. But the final act is doooope.

@regularmovieguy - I thought this was considerably better than Homecoming. And Mysterio was a stronger, better villain that Vulture. But yeah, the first half of the movie was mostly very slow, its not until Mysterio and Spidey team up in the hydro man fight, and then Peter hands over Edith to Mysterio that the movie really picks up and becomes quite good. That final act was terrific.

@HeavyMetal4Life

Final act was awesome. No doubt. 👌🏻

Wasn’t a fan of the EDITH subplot or Fury and Hill’s involvement.

@regularmovieguy - I thought "Fury" and "Hill's" involvement was fine and made sense (and of course was pretty crucial to Beck's plan). I put in quotes because I'm not sure if they were Skrulls at the beginning of the movie or after they thought they had defeated the Elementals.

@HeavyMetal4Life

I thought Jon Watts confirmed they added the post-credit scene in late as to make it look like Fury wasn’t duped agaaaaaain.

His behavior towards Peter doesn’t really make much sense during the movie unless it’s the real Fury.

Just didn’t think they needed to be in there. Most of his dialogue was exposition anyways.

@regularmovieguy - that's why I think that Fury didn't leave Earth until after the fight with Molten Man, cause his behavior with Peter would support this. He talks with Peter on a very personal level at times (even talks about them not meeting up at the funeral for Tony). And Talos saying he didn't catch Beck as being a fake (or whatever the exact quote is) to me applies to that final battle in London.

I haven't heard about Watts saying that, but I could have missed that this summer when I was out of town.

@regularmovieguy - ahh okay, yeah I remember that article but guess I forgot some of the details. This still doesn't say exactly when Fury became a Skrull. I think my theory makes the most sense, lol.

Turkey was great! Had a wonderful time, many great experiences, can't wait to go back.

After watching this again the other night (still holds up, best Spider-Man movie imo), the Mysterio that gets hit by the drone's bullet totally appears to be the illusion one that's sitting on the ground. Once Peter breaks the illusion, the 'real' Mysterio just falls on the ground and 'dies'. Looks like a fake-out the more I watch it.

It seems as if a lot of us here recently rewatched this. It’s definitely below homecoming overall, but that illusion scene was great and I also liked the death weary Peter who just wanted to do kid stuff. I hope we get more in-depth reactions to dying in the next few MCU movies

Also, it was nice to FINALLY see how the nanobots function outside of the ill defined visuals we've seen Tony Stark use.

I think BP did a good job of it, specifically because it shows the clothes of the user getting burned off which explains how it can be so form fitting, but stuff like this gets me even more jazzed for them to adapt F4 where they can get deeper into the science side of things

It's strange going into this studio divorce coming off of the most successful Spider-Man movie ever. I'm much more used to this being caused by a critical/commercial failure. I literally grew up with that happening twice. But now...I was so hyped coming off a cliffhanger from my favorite Spider-Man movie so far, and I still loved the movie seeing it for like the 4th time the other night, I just want to see them continue this story. But now we have to hit the rest button again, by force. Just a giant momentum killer.

@SpideyPuffsMJ

Prolly won’t be hitting the reset button. They might even have the same writers and director attached.

Hoping Lord/Miller take over but I wouldn’t be surprised to see the same team.

Although I wasn't a fan of how they handled the twist (which should've happened right at the beginning), the visuals were on of the best in the MCU so far

Aunt May shooting Pete with a paintball gun to test his the "Peter-Tingle" would have been such a fun scene that would have had a great pay off at the end.
