While the cast is strong all around, Sony's critically-acclaimed Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse undoubtedly struck gold when they cast comedian John Mulaney (Big Mouth) as the oink-tacular Spider-Ham and judging by this new clip, he's going to bring plenty of laughs to fans of all ages with his hysterically weird antics and crime-fighting prowess.

The animated feature, which was co-directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman, tells the origin story of Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) and will take him on a dimension-shattering adventure as he partners with a number of Spiders from different universes, including Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson), Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld), Spider-Ham (John Mulaney), Peni Parker (Kimiko Glenn), and Spider-Man Noir (Nicolas Cage), to take down the villainous Kingpin (Liev Schreiber) and his cronies.

Check out the clip below, along with a new poster featuring Miles, Peter and Gwen.

I think this might be my most anticipated movie left in the year.

It always tickled me to see his nostrils made up to look like little Spider-Eyes. Seeing them animated just makes it better.

The artstyle of this movie is absolutely gorgeous!

I honestly think that this movie will be a benchmark reference in years to come due to its unique animation style.

@bcom - I agree, except I'm not a fan of the choppy frame rate style. They used it in the Lego movie too and it worked there cuz it gave it a stop motion animation feel which is attributed to Lego fan films, but here it just looks odd and it hasn't grown on me like I was hoping.

@ArthurFleck - A few reviews I've read say that initially it does take some time to get used to the animation style but once you adjust it's just a pure feast for the eyes. I can't wait to see this movie!

Seriously, there are people right now who hate comic books and superheroes, but will have to sit through goddamn Spider-Ham because it's their jobs or they have kids or even the suckers who are watching trailers in front of their serious adulting movies. And they're going to know what Spider-Ham is because we made them. Us comic dorks who suffered through terrible film after terrible film, always promising the potential for box office greatness if the studios ever start to get the genre right, and now that they're kinda doing it, we finally reap the rewards.

Suck it, Bill Maher. Spider-Ham is in your brain now and there is nothing you can do to get it out. Even under a film of THC, the memory will lurk there, waiting to be uncovered by a random neuron firing.

We did it.

Swallow it! Right down your gullet Maher!

@Spock0Clock - Triggered much? Don't let the haters define our passion. They are irrelevant. Spider-Ham deserves better.
