Karen Gillan Wants To Take A Crack At SPIDER-GIRL

The Scottish actress has already played a comic book villain in James Gunn's Guardians Of The Galaxy, but which superhero would she most like to play given the opportunity? SFX asked her that very question, and it turns out she's a bit of a Spidey-fan.

Karen Gillan will soon appear as Nebula in Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy, but if she found herself on the more heroic side of the CBM universe, who's costume would she most like to step into? While chatting to her about her roles in that movie and in the excellent horror flick Oculus, SFX put the question to her.


If you could play a superhero, which one would you choose?

Okay, so Gillan obviously didn't know the character specifically..but she's a Spidey fan, that's enough! Spider-Girl is May “Mayday” Parker, but with her red locks and height, Gillan would actually better fit the role of Julia Carpenter, aka the second Spider-Woman. Either way, if Sony are thinking about a female Spidey spin-off, they need look no further.

Spider-Girl movie would be cool, only if Sony don't sabotage it. I wish Sony would do different Spidey universes, I'm already tired of what they are doing so far.

I'll give props for knowing the difference between those characters, sound like she really reads comics

But the with Arad still in(who said he wants the spiderman universe will not have spiderman 2099, scarlet spider, and miles)
It's likely not going to happen.


Sony really need to get some ppl that know how to work these new spiderman movies in the future

Actually there has been a Spider Woman with red hair.
She wore a black venom style outfit. I think she's still a Marvel character but with a different name.

Ladies and gentlemen she gets my vote to play a kick ass Mary Jane. Whoever plays Mary Jane next needs to have the same level of chemistry that Garfield and Emma Stone had and she has to be just as kick ass as Emma Stone. Actually I'll say she has to be more like able.
