RESULTS: Here's How You, ComicBookMovie.com's Readers, Rated MADAME WEB!

Earlier this month, we asked you to share your ratings for Sony Pictures' Madame Web, and thousands of you decided to chime in. However, we're pretty sure the results won't be what you likely expected...

Madame Web initially opened to mixed reviews on Valentine's Day, but it's since slipped to 13% and is now considered to be among the worst comic book movies ever made.

This comes at a bad time for a genre which is facing endless claims of "superhero fatigue," and Sony Pictures needs to go back to the drawing board with its Marvel Universe. Unfortunately, Venom 3 and Kraven the Hunter are pretty much already done, so it may well be too late for them.

We'll see what happens, but earlier this month, we asked you to cast your votes and rate Madame Web. Shockingly, for the first time ever, more of you declared that you had no plans to watch the movie than those who did.

We also can't help but wonder if those five-star verdicts were meant as a joke, but hey, perhaps many of you really did enjoy Cassie Webb's origin story!

Here are the full results from our poll:

I haven't watched it/don't plan on watching - 53.44%
⭐ - 19.08%
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - 8.62%
⭐⭐ - 7.31%
⭐⭐⭐ - 6.65%
⭐⭐⭐⭐ - 4.91%

No one involved with Madame Web has commented on the poor critical response to the movie, though Dakota Johnson's chaotic press tour continues to be a huge talking point online.

In London, the actress was asked about the infamous "He was in the Amazon with my mom when she was researching spiders right before she died" line/meme and shared a bemused response.

"Why did that go viral? Somebody brought this up, and I have no idea what it’s about," the clearly unamused actress stated. "But isn’t any sentence out of context...out of context? What a silly thing. 'He was in the Amazon researching spiders with my mom before she died.' That seems like a basic storyline to me, but maybe I’m just underneath it."

You can watch our interview with Madame Web star Tahar Rahim (Ezekiel Sims) in the player below.

Meanwhile, in another universe...In a switch from the typical genre, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing's most enigmatic heroines.

The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures...if they can all survive a deadly present.

The movie stars Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, Emma Roberts, and Adam Scott.

Madame Web is now playing in theaters worldwide.
