Marc Who? Sony Wants Phil Lord And Chris Miller To Helm THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3

Studio interference never really allowed Marc Webb to bring his vision for The Amazing Spider-Man to life, but if Sony decide not to reboot, they'll be bringing in a new team of filmmakers for the third instalment of the franchise. Is everything finally going to be awesome for Spidey?

Thanks to the "Sony Hack" (it really is the gift which keeps on giving!), we've heard that Sony want Phil Lord and Chris Miller to helm an animated movie set in the Spider-Man Universe for them AND that they were among those being considered to direct a possible reboot. However, it has now been revealed that there were discussions between Sony execs in late October about them taking on The Amazing Spider-Man 3. Despite all this talk about Marvel crossovers and reboots with an adult Peter Parker, you have to remember that there's a very good chance that Sony will - unfortunately - forge ahead with their plans to make Sinister Six and Venom, with The Amazing Spider-Man 3 following shortly after. According to this email? That will be in 2018. This obviously means Marc Webb has been dumped or doesn't wish to return, but as this is simply one of many ideas circulating among the clueless studio bosses, we'll just have to wait and see what happens...

I'd be okay with them directing a Spider-man movie.

Andrew Garfield wouldn't want to come back for a Part 3 anyway.

Yes to the directors, but no the Amazing Spiderman 3 at Sony. Reboot Reboot Reboot.

With all these e-mails being past tense, you almost forget that Sony are actually going to do something with the franchise and will be announcing it in the new year.
And it seems as though it won't be the Marvel thing. Unless this hack has made them all rethink their decisions.
We can only hope.

They can get [frick]ing Martin Scorsese to direct, I still don't trust Sony and their interference.

Sony: We are worthy of holding the rights to Spiderman

Ultron: How could you be worthy? You're all rapists... tangled in Pride... *Priiddee*!!

Ultron: I'm gonna show you something beautiful... All fans screaming for mercy. You want to fix the franchise but you don't want it to change. There's only one path to peace... Sell the rights..

I mean I'm excited to see the next movie from Lord/Miller and the next movie from Drew Goddard. And I think TASM2s failings were slightly exaggerated, but I do not want to see this dead horse get flogged anymore.
The best parts of TASM and TASM2 was Garfield and Stone.
Garfield is out and Stone is dead.
It's done.
And cloning Gwen is not a fix, either.

Sony is on a Lose/Lose situation.

- Rebooting Spider-Man in-house again in just 2 years will be acknowledged as a complete failure of their brand.

- Trying to extend the trilogy with all the cast members would be difficult especially after all the bad things that were said about them (Good Luck appeasing Andrew Garfield)

- Doing both by extending the trilogy but with a new Lead Actor would be "Batman Forever" down-hill territory.

Sony's plans should just collaborate with Marvel and let them set up the character which is what 98% of what everyone is asking for.

It's funny Sony thought that they were good enough to have the Russos make their Spidey film.

I wonder, since almost everyone loved guardians, if Gunn could do Spidey and everyone would like it?

just continue with spider 3 in a new direction but with the same cast. Andrew Garfield was spiderman. Webb disapointed in the second so a new director should be the way to go and get rid of some produceers like Arad , that guy just sucks. It would be perfect if Marvel Studios start producing them with the same cast without a third reboot.

That wouldn't suck.
But it would still get a 20% on rotten tomatoes
