Marvel Studios Concept Artist Ryan Meinerding Reveals SPIDER-MAN's New Disneyland Costume

Marvel Studios Concept Artist Ryan Meinerding has revealed a first official look at the new costume he designed for the Spider-Man that'll feature in Disneyland's Marvel-themed zone. Check it out...

Disneyland in Anaheim, California is currently converting part of California Adventure into a Marvel-themed zone, and the theme park has enlisted Marvel Studios concept artist Ryan Meinerding to design a spectacular new costume for Spider-Man.

We've caught glimpses of this in the past (there was some speculation at the time it would be used in Spider-Man: Far From Home but that was quickly debunked), but a proper look at the suit has now been revealed. Disneyland Paris will also feature an attraction which allows guests to interact with the wall-crawler and a number of other Marvel characters.

Here's what Meinerding - who worked on the hero's appearance in Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming - had to say about this new take on the iconic Marvel character:

"It has been the highlight of my career to design all of Spider-Man’s suits for the most recent films. Bringing him to life through Tony Stark’s capable design aesthetic was a true joy, but working with the Walt Disney Imagineering team to develop a look for Spidey that reflects the innovation of a team of young geniuses really brings him to a new level. And knowing that park guests can get up close to that suit and really take in all the detail the astounding Imagineers packed into it means that we have truly brought a new version of the character to life."

Unfortunately, this isn't quite a "Marvel Land" but with Star Wars Land finished ahead of schedule, you have to believe that will be next for Disney, and when it launches, it will be...amazing. For now, be sure to let us know your thoughts on this costume in the comments section down below.

Shittttt they should use it in Far From Home

@MarvelDCAllDay - but the red & Black FFH suit is the best live action MCU Spidey suit

I see everyone praising this suit but to me, something just feels off. I think it’s because of the huge emblem, the huge silver webshooters bands

It feels like a downgrade of the Homecoming suit to me

@LEVITIKUZ - I like the lack of black lines here, but I really don't like the emblem design, I prefer a smaller emblem but I dont mind a large one as long as it doesn't look like that.

@AbidNaga - The black lines are in the MCU suit as a way for his webshooters to not stick out like in that picture above. It makes his black wrist bands feel like more of a design choice than as a weakness a villain could exploit. I didn’t like the black bands but they grew on me

My biggest issuue with the homecoming suit is the black lines make it seem to overdesigned, so I really like how the red continues to flow here. I like a smaller Spider-symbol, but I don't mind a big one - that said, the spider-design here is not really good imo but I get that this probably wont be in a movie.

Ummmm..."new suit"? That is just the Homecoming suit, correct? Is it the webshooters and belt area that are the "differences"?

@xfan320 - The webshooters, belt, shade of blue, and symbols are different.

i haven't been a fan of when you can see his web-shooter , it's counter productive to when he fights villain with intelligence. TASM2 is still as of now the best costume we've gotten imo

I don't like the back spider other than that its cool! I wish in later movies Peters spider starts to resemble a regular spider and not the sorta digitized one we get.

@Nebula - They didn't post it on this site though.
Nomi
Nomi - 3/22/2019, 8:28 AM
@soberchimera - It's not a comic book movie so why do you think they would post it? They post some movies that has even one comic, but this has none.
soberchimera
soberchimera - 3/22/2019, 10:17 AM
@ThorPoochie - They posted an article about the new Nolan movie coming out a few days ago, I'm pretty sure its not going to be based off a comic either. Plus Star Wars, Game of Thrones, and Alien are not based off comic books either and there are articles about them every week.
soberchimera
soberchimera - 3/22/2019, 10:18 AM
@ThorPoochie - They posted the Stranger Things trailer this week too. What comic is that based on?
Nomi

@soberchimera -

I didn't say based on comic ffs.

Nomi - 3/22/2019, 10:40 AM
@soberchimera - What Nolan movie? There isn't any trailers for his upcoming movies, his next movie is untitled and comin up 2020.
Nomi
Nomi - 3/22/2019, 10:43 AM
@soberchimera - Oh, I see. I don't know why did i read trailer, but yeah, they also post news that are related to people who are acted or directed a CMB like they always have.
soberchimera
soberchimera - 3/22/2019, 10:51 AM
@ThorPoochie - They make comics based off anything, but you wouldn't call Star Wars, Alien, Terminator, or even Bill & Ted cbms. And they did articles on Interstellar and Dunkirk back in the day.

Tarantino directed a segment in Sin City by the way. So there, a film by him not related to comic books should be on this site by your logic. Seems like a silly thing to worked up over anyway.
Nomi
Nomi - 3/22/2019, 11:03 AM
@soberchimera - But they all have comics based on the movies, that was my point. I know it can be confusing, but I don't even care what articles they bost because 60% of them are BS anyways.
soberchimera
soberchimera - 3/22/2019, 11:14 AM
@ThorPoochie - "60% of them are BS anyways." THAT we can agree on.

I like the back-spider, the rest is meh. I think the front-spider would be better if it wasn't so bulbous.
