In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Chris Cooper, Paul Giamatti, Colm Feore, Sally Field, and Chris Zylka, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to be released in the UK on 18th April and in the US on May 2nd.

@Reeferinferno Agreed. His character was the biggest disappointment of the whole film for me.

That clip does a good job at previewing some of the goofiness of the movie as a whole.

Film was better than the first but could've been better. Giamatti was barely understandable and completely shit though, Foxx was hammy/kinda shit and underused, Dehaan was the only one who really did ok... Still prefer Raimi's films absent 3...

I don't care what anyone says. I thought this movie was pretty good. And for those who haven't seen it, yeah tere are some really corny moments in the movie but guys trust me... There are some serious dark moments/elements to this film. I will say that Electro was a weak villain, but I really enjoyed what they did with the Osborns and the whole goblin situation. Very Interesting/creepy and Different from Sam Raimi'. I loved this movie to ""Death"" <<<---- ;)

Now comparing it to TAMS1, it is a HUGE improvement. I've also never experienced such an emotional impact that I recieved by the end of this movie, in AnY OtheR Spiderman film

Lol I understand that Marc Webb wanted to set up the sinister six but he didn't literally need to throw electro in this movie...everyone keeps saying that he was a waste of time which sounds like he was shoehorned in this movie. I bet If Harry was the only bad guy the plot could've been perfected smoothly.

@MrMartinMarvel Exactly.

Seriously, is nobody going to comment on the fact that Spider-Man let Rhino kill at least one person and injure more in that car smash-up while he tried to save Max? That one car's front was [frick]ed UP.

Its scenes like this that pissed me off with this film. He could easily have stopped the truck in the first place, but no, he flaunts his ability and lets tons of people die or get injured for the sake of saving 'Max' in order to give him a rushed motivation.

@MrMartinMarvel

"It might work better in context, but it seems like he's still a major Spider-Douche in this"

Imagine this... but WORSE and through every fight scene. In the Times Square fight he literally disappears allowing Electro to start frying random people in order to go off-screen and cha to three firemen and get them to use a hose against Electro.

@GoldenOne33

Stop posting the same thing over and over - I gave you counter points to every one of your statements. I've explained why it sucked and its not because of the comics - its because they portrayed him badly.

@GURILLAPUD
"Is this movie any good? Torrent or Theater?"

Visuals, Harry Osborn and an ending that (While rushed) follows the comics are the only benefits.

You've seen pretty much all of the fight scenes and the rest is romance plotlines. Not worth torrenting as the visuals need to be good otherwise its not worth watching. Not worth paying for in theaters because the middle act of the film sucks and you'll want to leave.

Borrow it from a friend when its on DVD... maybe watch it online if you can but its not worth it if the quality is bad.

The way I picked up that scene was to allow that cop to say where is spidey so little kids would be on the edge of their seat in anticipation.

Spidey saved Max just in the nic of time. What the fack did you want him to do? Let Max die just so Rhino wouldn't smash into some cars!?
Kurban
Kurban - 4/24/2014, 10:23 PM
@GoldenOne33 This Electro very clearly IS mentally disturbed, even before gaining superpowers. What normal person would seriously have a room full of Spider-Man shit and a mirror to make it look like you're there with him or whatever? That's already pretty weird. Add that to the fact that he's suppressed his anger over being ignored your whole life, and you've got one [frick]ed up individual.

His motivation, while paper-thin, actually sort of makes sense in that context. He's already on the edge, of course he'd snap once this stuff starts happening to him.

You want a crazy bastard with no real motivation or backstory? Assuming Carnage enters the picture in this series, I guarantee you that's how they'll play it. No introduction needed. He's a psychopath who needs to be stopped. Throw the symbiote on him, boom bang, Carnage.

They seriously should have just focused on Harry, though foxx was good as electro but max was such a lame character.

@GoldenOne33

"Mentally Distursbed is a good enough motivation to be a villian. Does Carnage need a motivation?"

You still seem completely inept when it comes to realising that removing the motivations of your main villain and making him a 'mentally disturbed' character (As you put it) makes him generic.

Carnage has the biggest back story of them all you completely moron. Read this;

"Kasady is a deeply disturbed individual with a dark past: as a child, he killed his grandmother by pushing her down a flight of stairs, tried to murder his mother by tossing a television into her bathtub, and tortured and killed his mother's dog. After the latter, his mother then tried to kill Cletus, and was apparently beaten to the brink of death by Kasady's father, who received no defense from Kasady during his trial. As an orphan, Kasady was sent to the St. Estes Home for Boys, where his antisocial behavior made him the target of abuse from both the other orphans and the staff. Kasady gained revenge by murdering the disciplinarian administrator, pushing a girl (who laughed at him for asking her to date him) in front of a moving bus, and burning down the orphanage. It was during his brutal years at St. Estes that Kasady acquired his philosophy that life was essentially meaningless and futile, that "laws are only words", and came to see the spreading of chaos through random, unpatterned bloodshed as "the ultimate freedom."

Max Dillon had a backstory and motivation - however it was cut from the film. His mother was going to be constantly disappointed in him and experience a tragedy after missing his birthday causing Max Dillon to snap and blame Spider-man for giving him false hope. The film makers didn't portray this well and as such you've just been making excuses saying that 'mentally disturbed' is an acceptable motivation when we don't learn what made him snap.

Darth Vader had a backstory - it was badly played out in film - but he had a backstory. He was never just pure evil - he was motivated by love, the death of his family, his mothers enslavement, etc... He also had his own redemption storyline. If you'd watched the sixth film you would know this. If you watched the prequels you would know this. Its like you don't understand what you are talking about.

Joker had a backstory - heck, I presume you are being silly and believing that 'The Dark Knight' version doesn't have a back story - wrong. He does and its alluded to in his sadistic comments about how he got his scars. The difference being that film wanted to play a character to the point where he was a mad dog chasing cars - he still had motivations though, just wanting to cause chaos.

@Kurban

As with written above - Carnage has a motivation, arguably the most troubled history possible for a character involving bullying, abusive family, etc... not to mention the venom spawn itself urging him to kill.

That's not Max Dillon that's a scene from Haunted Hause 2. TASM2 is a shit film, made purely as a cash grab and to protect their property interests.

I saw it this morning, it got released here in South Africa today

It was SHIT, the biggest SHIT Spiderman ever!!!!!

Here is why, becuase the actual movie was not that bad.

DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU DONT WANT SPOILERS!!!!!

The marketing for this movie is massive. it feels like trailers and tv spots gets released daily, there is constant photo spoilers everywhere and script leaks constantly and more and more and more and more and more

The rhino is the for 4 min. We already saw about 3 min of everything he does.
The Goblin in there for about 8 min, and we saw almost everythng from him.
We saw Gwens death in all the photos and trailers, the only thing we didnt see was when she hit the floor
Here and there there was things about Electro that we didnt know, but nothing during the movie suprised me about him, all we didnt know was how he died, yes he dies, and it is such a duh moment.
We already saw the train comming out from the ground, and that it is a lab, so that suprise was already ruined for us, it was a moment that would have been great in the movie
Norman Osborne is in the movie a total of 2 min, and it is such a waste of such an amazing actor, but i must say, somehting he told his son harry was a great suprise
In the trailers we see oer and over the last scene, so, i was sitting in the cinema knowing what the last seconds will look like. Somebody once said, you can have the greatest movie ever, but if the end is bad, you will loose them. This is what happend for me. Great movie, the end i already knew so i was very dissapointed

If you look at the actual movie, it is not bad, it has heart, it has tons of action, amazing special effects, great chemistry between the lead actors is wonderfull, the movie sets up the next villains and thats great, it is an enjoyable movie, but.......

THE CRAPPY MARKETING RUINED THE EXPERIENCE FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!
