We're not saying Marvel Studios is slacking when it comes to post-credit scenes, but Black Widow only featured one and we're still waiting for Hawkeye to include a stinger five episodes in! Thankfully, like Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals, Spider-Man: No Way Home includes two.
The first ties into Sony's Spider-Man Universe, while also dropping some big hints about where Peter Parker's story could go next. The second, meanwhile, deals with the fallout from this film and offers a first look at what comes next for a certain character ahead of their next solo adventure.
These are a big deal, and quite a bit more impactful than tongue in cheek efforts of the past (like Captain America's PSA and Nick Fury and Maria Hill being revealed as shape-shifting Skrulls).
You shouldn't need us to tell you that MAJOR SPOILERS follow once you hit that Next button!
Eddie Brock Goes Home
Venom: Let There Be Carnage's mid-credits scene brought Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock into the MCU. The perplexed reporter was pushed to one side, however, when Venom made his interest known in tracking down Spider-Man. Alas, it doesn't happen, and Venom is not the sixth member of that sinister quintet.
Instead, Eddie remained in Mexico and that's where we find him in Spider-Man: No Way Home's mid-credits scene. He questions the barman about the MCU's heroes and is thoroughly baffled upon learning about Iron Man and Thanos (Eddie insists that aliens like eating brains, not collecting stones). Telling Venom that perhaps they should travel to New York to find Spider-Man, he's suddenly sent back to his own world, meaning the fan-favorite character is already no longer part of the MCU!
He does, however, leave something behind. On the bar, there's a piece of the symbiote that springs to life just before the screen fades to black. Will it find its way to Peter Parker in the Big Apple? The stage has certainly been set for Spider-Man to don the alien costume somewhere down the line!
Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness
The second post-credits "scene" forgoes Peter Parker altogether, though does address the fallout from Doctor Strange's decision to help the world forget Spider-Man's idendity. In this teaser for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the Multiverse has seemingly been torn asunder following the sorcerer's decision to help the web-slinger, and now it's time to deal with the consequences.
You can read our full breakdown here, but we learn that the MCU is being torn apart by Strange's spell. This leads to him seeking out the Scarlet Witch's help, while the first snippets of footage tease everything from a massive squid-like monster (likely Gargantos) to mind-bending Multiversal imagery.
The biggest reveal comes at the end of the trailer, however, when Mordo appears to introduce Doctor Strange to the one responsible for all this madness: Doctor Strange Supreme from Disney+'s What If...? animated series. He's escaped The Watcher's prison, but what could his end goal be?
