Spider-Man: No Way Home brought back Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker Variants, but aside from some familiar villains, we didn't get to see any other characters from their respective realities. There was only so much room in the threequel, to be fair, but many fans were disappointed not to see Kirsten Dunst reprise her role as Mary Jane Watson.
Tobey's Peter alluded to them getting their happy ending, but we're still hopeful that the opportunity for Dunst to play MJ again will present itself somewhere in the not too distant future.
That's something the actress commented on during a recent interview in which she reiterated her desire to reprise one of her most iconic roles after missing out on Spider-Man: No Way Home last December. "There's still time. I mean, listen, no one's asked me about anything but I do think that...I mean, this multi-universe just keeps going on and on. I wouldn't...I feel like that could happen."
This bodes well, and there are already rumblings that Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures may have plans for the two previous Spider-Men in a future project. Something tells us Spider-Man: No Way Home's $1.8 billion success will ensure that happens, anyway, whether it's in a movie like Secret Wars or another Multiversal adventure that takes us to the worlds the Variant Peters call home.
Spider-Man: No Way Home releases on Digital on March 22 and physical platforms on April 12.
