I thought Peter is supposed to be a nerd, this kid dresses like he lives at the GAP and gets hair cuts that cost more than my shoes.

this is a move I never understood, the requirement to reboot spiderman as if it was something horrible.

I was so looking forward to a 4th with Tobey Maguire, well it will be difficult to top him as a witty, fun, innocent peter Parker/spiderman,he was brilliant.he even had the perfect voice to spidey :)

hopefully this new one will be decent.only time will tell

but just for the record I love the old costume,it's really cool as a wallpaper.

Wow. He's supposed to be a high school student??? He looks his age. Late 20's. He'll be mid to late 30's if they complete the trilogy. I dunno....

It was hard for me to picture Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker. I had previously seen him in too many role that made it hard for me to think of him as young enough for the role. Hopefully this guy can pull it off. I'm not sure about his hair, but otherwise he looks the part.

I still read and collect "Amazing Spiderman" Have been since I was 10 years old in 1975 and I guess I'm still waiting for a true & faithful adaptation. I thought Sam Raimi's version was okay but far from authentic. :-)

Spider-MAN fans have to put up with yet another franchise that depicts his teenage years. That is such a small window in Spider-MAN’S history and we’ve been there done that with Raimi’s version.

This new Phony Sony reboot didn't get the title right and the costume design is CRAP.

Phony Sony just hijacked the title as an insult to MARVEL STUDIOS. The "Amazing Spiderman" title belongs to a mature fully GROWN MAN Peter Parker and his alter ego Spider-MAN, not this alternate "Ultimate" TWEEN re-imagining.

They should have appropriately called this movie "Ultimate Spiderman" because that's what it is. The "Ultimate" Spiderman comic book series perpetuates the High School stories, not "The Amazing Spiderman" title which depicts Peter Parker as an adult.

I'm also sick and tired of hearing the old throw away statement that: "this is Sony's Spiderman movie universe and therefore should not be compared to the comic book universe". Yeah right, if ever there was an excuse or cop out to give lazy film-makers poetic license to do whatever they like there it is.

Spiderman is a MARVEL property and the sooner MARVEL/DISNEY get the film rights back the sooner MARVEL STUDIOS can make a proper Spiderman film.
