Joel Kinnaman Confirms That He Will Star In David Ayer's SUICIDE SQUAD

It was revealed not too long ago that Joel Kinnaman (RoboCop) was the frontrunner to play Rick Flagg in David Ayer's DC Comics adaptation Suicide Squad, and the actor has now confirmed that he will appear in the movie and weighs in on why exactly fans should be excited...

When AlloCine caught up with Run All Night and The Killing star Joel Kinnaman, they asked the actor whether or not those reports about him being in Suicide Squad are accurate. He wasn't willing to reveal anything specific, but did tell that site: "All I can say is that I will be in the movie, and it's going to be amazing." So, we officially have our Rick Flagg then! Joel Edgerton (Warrior) and Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead) were also being considered, but Kinnaman beat them to it. The rest of the Suicide Squad cast includes Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevigne and likely Viola Davis and Jesse Eisenberg too. The movie will be released on August 5th next year.

Flagg didn't even need someone of Hardy's caliber, so I'm sure Kinnaman will be great. I can't wait.

I like this casting, I was a big fan of The Killing and though he was great in it. Also thought he was really good in robocop too.

He should do a good job in SS. The reason Robocop failed wasn't his fault, but the script's. I think David is going to blow the film out of the water and become a huge success.

I enjoyed him as Robocop, he'll make a good Rick Flag. Plus it sounds like Flag is only going to be a supporting character anyway.

Well, if rumors hold to be true (in regards to the Character of Rick Flagg), one would know why WB went to an Actor such as Tom Hardy. But, I don't want to give any potential spoilers away, so I will let you research this information.

Either way, I believe Kinnaman will at the very least be solid, if anything.

I just think Tom Hardy looked at it and said I was already in a Batman Movie. I had a killer role. Why should I take a lesser role be overshadowed By Leto's Joker and Smith's Deadshot. I'll go ahead and move on. no harm no foul. The movie will be fine and he definitely will be fine.

I was hoping for Jon Bernthal but I can dig it.

Thank God Jake Gyllenhaal was too busy to do this. Nothing against Jake, love him and he wants to be in a superhero film but I rather have him as Hal Jordan or someone headline his own series.

This still will be the best cbm of 2016.

He can play the commandeering and authoritative role very well.
Movie was good not as good as the original but good.
