THE SUICIDE SQUAD: King Shark's Disguise Just Isn't Gonna Cut It In Hilarious New Clip

Another new clip from James Gunn's The Suicide Squad has been shared online, and it sees King Shark attempting to blend in with the rest of Task Force X as they head out for a night on the town...

The Suicide Squad director James Gunn and stars Margot Robbie and John Cena appeared on Jimmy Kimmel last night, and they brought a couple of new clips from the movie with them. We saw Task Force X "rescuing" Harley Quinn earlier today, and the very funny second clip has now been shared online in pretty good quality.

Here we see Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Ratcatcher 2 and the gang being kitted out in civilian clothes so they can attempt to pass for tourists in a nearby Corto Maltese town, but for obvious reasons, King Shark has to stay behind. This doesn't sit well with the big fella, who wants to wear a disguise to blend in with the others. Unfortunately, his fake mustache idea simply isn't going to cut it.

Check out the new clip below, and be sure to check back for our thoughts on the movie tomorrow morning (you'll want to follow me on Twitter for my reaction).

"Welcome to hell — a.k.a. Bell Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out — even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today's do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin, and everyone's favorite psycho, Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese."
"Trekking through a jungle teeming with militant adversaries and guerrilla forces at every turn, the Squad is on a search-and- destroy mission with only Colonel Rick Flag on the ground to make them behave...and Amanda Waller’s government techies in their ears, tracking their every movement. And as always, one wrong move and they’re dead (whether at the hands of their opponents, a teammate, or Waller herself). If anyone’s laying down bets, the smart money is against them—all of them."

We recently found out that the movie was officially rated R for "strong violence and gore, language throughout, some sexual references, drug use and brief graphic nudity."

The Suicide Squad is set to premiere on HBO Max and in theaters on August 6.

Amusing? No doubt. Hilarious? Not by a long shot.
Don't get me wrong I'm excited for this movie, but hilarious isn't the word.

@AndrewHolland - ikr? How can they not think a fake mustache works? It's the perfect disguise.

Similar to GotG2 where parts fell flat because they tried too hard with jokes that did not really fit - this feels the same. The joke just feels like it drags here. The set-up is fine, he wants a disguise - but then we distract from that to talk about him learning Spanish, then he suggests a fake mustache then we get the other characters commenting about the fake mustache.

It should just be that you have him say about a disguise, he is questioned, says 'a fake mustache' and puts his finger to his face. That's your joke. Then at the end of the scene or later in the movie you can pay it off by having the disguise actually work OR if you don't want it to work, simply have one of the more stupid/crazy individuals on the team walk past and just casually say 'nice mustache'.

In addition, this scene is edited weirdly. A few of the characters don't seem to really look at King Shark and I'm unsure if that's intentional or if it's to do with directing. 00:23 seconds seems to have a cut as the person looking in the box randomly teleport next to the van - so this scene may go on even longer in the final movie.

@BlackBeltJones - I’ve been crushing on her for years. She’s going to be the break out star in this.

@micvalpro - I first saw her in Valor da Vida. I go to Spain twice a year, have friends there and it’s a Portuguese show they were into over there.

Forgot all about that show until I saw her casted in SS.

Sidebar, Stallone's best role after Rocky is in James Mangold's Cop Land.

Anyway, this looks fun! I can't wait. It seems to have all of Ostrander's DNA while fused with Gunn's sensibilities as a director. Stoked!

@Dredd97 - hated that movie. Huge cast that ended up being super overhype and mediocre delivery.

I have a good feeling about this movie. It really looks to be a rare occurrence of WB hitting a bullseye.

Ratcatcher 2 is cute, the humor doesn't work for me.
Wish King Shark didn't feel like Gunn trying to do Groot 2.0

Gunn's dialogue/humor has this thing where it just goes on and on and on... and on. I guess for some people it works, but never did for me.

I thought it might work better here than in Guardians at times, but it's just too distinct and you notice it right away.

@Kurne -
GotG1 he at least had someone to reign him in a bit and a lot of that movie worked, the only scene that dragged for me was the dancing scene which felt out of place.

GotG2 is more akin to what seems to be happening here, he has too much free reign and wants to expand on a joke he personally thinks is funny and at the same time he wants to use that joke to expand on the characters. Only the expansion on the characters impacts the pacing of the joke so it takes 40 seconds to have a character put his finger to his face pretending it is a mustache - and this scene is seemingly shorter than what it will be in the movie because we some odd editing at 00:23 - so chances are they stretch this joke out over the entire scene.

That didn't really hit for me, but I'm a DC shill so I'm sure I'll at least find things to enjoy with this movie.

This movie must have been stressful to direct. James started it with dark hair and now his hair is grey.
WB sucked the life outta him. 😳

@AnthonyVonGeek - he’s just going through his David Lynch phase, every director does it at least once.
