Bryan Cranston Interested In Playing Lex Luthor In SUPERMAN/BATMAN Movie

Rumored to be a top choice for the role in Warner Bros.' hotly anticipated Superman/Batman team-up film, Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston briefly comments on his interest in playing the villainous Lex Luthor.

Last week, the first casting rumors surfaced for the role of Lex Luthor in Warner Bros.' Batman/Superman movie. While it hasn't been confirmed that the character will feature in the Man Of Steel follow-up, it seems likely considering that he was heavily referenced in the first movie. Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston was linked to the role at first, while Green Lantern's Mark Strong hinted that he was at least in the running. Now, Cranston briefly shares his interest in portraying Luthor while speaking with Metro. "Give me a call. I like Lex Luthor. I think he’s misunderstood. He’s a loveable, sweet man." Do you want to see him as the next Lex Luthor? If not, then who?

Set to begin filming early next year (reportedly in Toronto) for a Summer 2015 release, Warner Bros.' untitled Batman/Superman movie currently stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane. The new Bruce Wayne/Batman has yet to be cast. Zack Snyder is directing from a script written by David S. Goyer.

I personally don't see Cranston as Lex Luthor, especially not as the Richard Branson/Brad Pitt Lex Luthor Snyder described.

If Cranston and Brolin join the cast then I'll definitely go watch the movie despite it being written by Goyer.

Would he be the Lex Luthor we all know? No. But, my God, he could play the snide, rage-fueled lunatic that just wants to see Supes burn so freaking well. Give him the part. He could also make Lex more political and suspenseful. I like that.

Someone mentioned Cranston for Comm Gordon. I like that. I'm also on the Billy Zane for Lex bandwagon. He played a great bald villian in Demon Knight.

He's a great actor on Breaking Bad and he'd be great as Lex but I agree with everybody else that's saying he would make a better Gordon.

Even though both the comics and movies have moved away from Clark and Lex being childhood friends and school mates I would rather see a Luthor in his lates 30's early 40's tops. A powerful businessman and xenophobe. I would like to see him manipulate Bruce Wayne into his belief that Superman is a danger to the world. Then through either his discovery or creation of Kryptonite he creates Metallo. Batman ultimately uncovers Luthors plot, saves Superman and the two become partners to defeat Luthor. Superman then entrusts Batman with the kryptonite for safekeeping.

It would have been cool if there had been any truth to the rumor that Bradley Cooper would cameo MOS as Luthor, he could have brought a conniving kind of persona to the role

If they land Brolin as Batman and Cranston as Lex Luthor, DC/WB may have their biggest comic book movie hit ever.

Of course they will need someone to reign in Snyder and Nolan to ghost write for Goyer but you get my drift.
