Monsters' Scoot McNairy Lands Super Hero Role, Could It Be In The Superman Reboot?

The up and coming actor is very exited indeed about a new role in a super hero flick. Could it be Zack Snyder's Superman reboot?

Total Film online have an interview with Monsters actor Scoot McNairy. He reveals to the mag that he has landed a big role..



"[Monsters has] opened up a lot of doors for me. I just got an offer yesterday that was probably the biggest offer of my life..."


Total Film then asked if perhaps this role was in any particular superhero movie that might be coming up and McNairy's publicist said..

"It's a good one! But if he tells you he'll have to kill you."


McNairy added..

"You'll read it in the trades in a few weeks. It'll be a big announcement."


Its worth noting that Total Film had run this with a headline that strongly suggested that the film McNairy was talking about was indeed Superman. Their article has now been deleted. Read into that what you will! In any case I really don't think McNairy would be up for the [art of Superman himself. Perhaps a villain? Jimmy Olsen?

Whatever the role or movie I can't say I'm too exited to see Mr McNairy on my screen again. Monsters may have been a technical achievement considering it's budget but I found it to be a pretentious bore McNairy to have all the screen presence of a hat stand.

There are a lot of roles to be filled in the Superman movie, if that is even what he is being cast in. Why is everyone already worrying that he is going to be Superman?

And I thought Monsters was decent. I didn't go in expecting District 9 and, although it was slow for a "monster movie," I liked the characters and the premise.

Also, I like how Intruder is facepalming a rumor that doesn't even specify a particular role or movie.

I looooove Monsters, it was a fantastic , and beautiful movie.
As far as Supes goes, he is definitely not right for it.

I just don't see "Ant-Man" as being "a big announcement". No one but die hard Avengers fans care about Ant-Man. Hell, there are even die hard Avengers fans that would love nothing more than not see Ant-man in the Avengers film, let alone have him get his own movie. The only little hype there is about this film is to see what Edgar Wright will end up making with the character. I mean, it's not like we're talking about The Flash here. There's no way in hell a JLA fan worth his spit would EVER be okay with a Flashless JLA film.
