Last week we received the official announcement regarding Superman/Batman: Apocalypse, the latest animated film to be released by DC Entertainment and Warner Premiere. The PG-13 film is slated to hit store shelves September 28, 2010, with a returning voice cast of fan-favorites Tim Daly as Superman and Kevin Conroy as Batman, as well as Andre Braugher, Summer Glau and Ed Asner.

The story will follow the DC Comics series “Superman/Batman: Supergirl” created by Jeph Loeb, Michael Turner & Peter Steigerwald, and will pit heroes Superman, Batman, Supergirl and Wonder Woman against the villain Darkseid:

'After a spaceship splashes down in Gotham City Harbor, Batman and Superman encounter a mysterious Kryptonian with powers as great as those of the Man of Steel. The Kryptonian is soon revealed to be Kara, cousin of Superman, who takes her under his wing to educate her about the ways of Earth. However, the villainous Darkseid has other plans.

Seeing an opportunity to finally defeat Superman, Darkseid abducts and gains control of Kara, utilizing the powerful Kryptonian to do his bidding. It’s up to Batman and Superman to save Kara, but they’ll have to take the fight to Darkseid within his hostile world – where unknown, deadly threats lurk around every corner, including a brainwashed Kryptonian able to match Superman blow-for-blow. The cover art was promising, but I think this just OK. Wonder Woman is totally gonna feel forced on the audience as usual..

Urban8er @ That could be because of one of two reasons.
If you pay close attention you'll see that Lando originally owned the Falcon. So my question is, why has HAN wearing LANDO'S clothes? Lando and Han were also smugglers. Their two planets were evidently similar with their clothes (for smugglers). Hope I helped.

I'm glad Wonder Woman is in this. Maybe it'll lead to DC Universe making a Trinity DVD.

Does anybody know who's voicing Wonder Woman in this?

Is it just me or does that art style look exactly like the art style from Crisis on Two Earths? MAN! I was hoping for something that jumped from the screen in Turner's style.. that doesn't scream Michael Turner to me... shame!!

But I'm still all-out excited for this! Superman/Batman adaptation sequels FTW!

ok i'll eat humble pie...i see WW did make it into this feature, I presumed they would just erase her from it entirely!

@Creature-WW is in the original store line? far from being "forced" on the audience....go grab the graphic novel or a few back issues....hahaa

lets just hope they stick to the original tale....
