The hunt for the DCU's Man of Steel continues, and a new Superman: Legacy frontrunner just emerged in The Bold and the Beautiful star Pierson Fodé.
According to Variety, he sent in a self-tape for the role that included a montage of footage from his Clark Kent-like childhood on a farm in Moses Lake, Washington. Apparently, filmmaker James Gunn liked what he saw, though both his and Fodé's reps refused to comment on the news.
However, an insider tells the trade that "no casting decisions have been made."
While we wait and see what happens, we're guessing you're wondering who Fodé is. Best known for starring in The Bold and the Beautiful between 2015 - 2018, he also counts like likes of The Man From Toronto and Dynasty among his film and television credits.
Perhaps most interesting is the fact he had a small role in a 2020 episode of Supergirl as Angus/Gregory Bauer. It was a meaty role for the actor to sink his teeth into as he played a former member of a hate group that targeted transgender individuals.
As you can see below, Fodé definitely looks the part and being cast as Superman would obviously serve as the 31-year-old's big break in Hollywood.
"Superman: Legacy tells the story of Superman's journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas," reads the movie's synopsis. "He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned."
Superman: Legacy is set to be released in theaters on July 11. 2025.
