Why I think Brainiac might just be in the Superman reboot after all!

Ok now, I know I will face a barrage of side-swipes from many angry peeps on here but this is simply speculation mixed with me putting together different pieces of info from Snyder and combining it with the original information we first received about the Superman reboot being helmed by Christopher Nolan.

The original rumor stated I believe back in February of 2010:

"I can tell you that Goyer's story involves Luthor and Brainiac. It is NOT an origin and assumes audiences already know about Lois, Clark, Jimmy and Perry. I know the Daily Planet is struggling due to the internet. And I know it sets up a huge Kryptonian mythology."

Now that was I believe...just a press release, not something solid from Nolan or crew. But then a recent interview with Snyder caught my interest when he was asked this question-

"Will the film have a big Kryptonian mythology?"

And Snyder's response?

"I can’t say because it gives too much away, but it’s safe to say that we have a great respect for the character." (thanks goes out to Wolvie09 for the article which I borrowed the quote from)

That term- "big kryptonian mythology" rings similarly to the original Brainiac rumor where it stated that the film will "set up a huge kryptonian mythology"

And the fact that Snyder tried to remain very quiet on it and said it would "reveal too much" tells me there is some truth to the original press-release from back in February 2010 and within that same press-release was the original mention of Brainiac and Luthor being the villains.

This may be a bit weak to some...but I'm just trying to carefully examine every word from Snyder's interviews and I'm trying to piece the puzzle together to see which foe our red and blue clad hero will battle next.

To those who've wanted Brainiac (including myself) I'm not trying to get anybody's hopes up...and again this is just my theory but with some solid sources I used to back it up. I just simply noticed a similarity and thought it was worth putting out here on CBM.

Post your thoughts ;D
