Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is now available to buy or rent on Digital from Paramount Home Entertainment. Jeff Rowe, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg's reboot is one of the year's best-reviewed movie and a new beginning for the Heroes in a Half-Shell which has been embraced by fans of all ages.

Those of you who purchase the film on Digital will be able to delve into the making of the movie with over 40 minutes of bonus content. That means getting to join the young new voice cast as they explore the "teen" in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before going behind the scenes with the all-star voice cast, including Jackie Chan, Ice Cube, and many more.

As if that's not enough, this release also includes featurettes exploring the film's unique animation style and even a lesson on how to draw the leader of the Ninja Turtles, Leonardo!

We were recently lucky enough to catch up with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman. These characters have come a long way since he and Peter Laird first introduced them in black and white way back in 1984, and Mutant Mayhem is the opening chapter of a story which will follow these heroes across film and television for years to come.

Helping to usher in this new era is a cameo from Eastman which sees him play the human who helps Splinter to his feet during Superfly's attack. In the video below, we asked the writer and artist what it meant to play such a crucial role in this story.

"You know, kudos to them. I have great appreciation and admiration for the creative team because they could have had me standing there selling a newspaper or something," he says. "But they made it a moment where, in a movie based around Splinter's issues with the humans, and for me to then be a human that helps them…it was just a beautifully poignant scene and really respectful."

"I appreciate them thinking of me to do that because it was emotional and great. I was pretty excited and very grateful."

If you didn't know it was coming, this Stan Lee-like cameo is easy to miss on a first viewing, so we'd recommend picking up the movie on Digital in order to watch Eastman's performance in all its glory. Despite being a relatively small part, the co-creator of the awesome foursome definitely leaves a lasting impact!

In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, after years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is now available to buy or rent on Digital.

I still don't get why the people look so ugly in this.

Yeah, jokes about April. But ignoring the redesign, the general art style just makes every human look ugly.

This really hurts the story too, since the turtles are complaining about not being able to be accepted by society when in actuality they look more appealing to the eyes than the humans.

@Origame - the art is supposed to represent teenager drawing in notebooks

@cyclopsprime - ...and you don't put teenage drawings from a notebook into art class.
