There were numerous rumors doing the rounds relating to the cameos that were said to feature in The Flash in the build-up to the movie's release, and while a few turned out to be bogus, most proved accurate.
Major spoilers follow.
In addition to some of the Scarlet Speedster's fellow Justice League members and yet another Batman, we catch glimpses of several "Variants" when Barry enters the Speed-Force, and the "ghoulish" use of one actor, in particular, has come in for a lot of backlash.
As the various realities begin to collapse in on themselves, one portal opens up to reveal the late Christopher Reeve's take on Superman alongside Helen Slater as Supergirl. This is not the first time a deceased actor has been "resurrected" to play a CGI doppelgänger, of course, but this one really seems to have riled people up.
Now, a first look at Reeves' Man of Steel and Slater as Supergirl has leaked online.
What do you guys make of this? Do you think it's okay as long as the family signs off, or should Hollywood knock it on the head? Drop us a comment down below.
"Directed by Andy Muschietti, The Flash features Barry Allen traveling back in time in order to change events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to help. That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian…albeit not the one he’s looking for.
Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?"
The Flash is produced by Barbara Muschietti and Michael Disco, with a screenplay by Christina Hodson, and a screen story by John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein and Joby Harold, based on characters from DC. Warner Bros. Pictures presents a Double Dream/a Disco Factory production of an Andy Muschietti film.
