The Flash is set to have its world premiere at CinemaCon on April 25. We expected spoilers to do the rounds after the screening, but some plot details have already found their way online.
The various reports differ in some regards, but based on what we've been able to gather from more trusted sources, we have a pretty good idea how the movie is going to end - as well as some of the cameos we can expect to see.
Obviously, major spoilers follow.
We're going to keep things somewhat vague so as not to completely ruin the surprises (if you want more details, you won't have trouble finding them), but we've been told that some major cameos remain in the film. We had been led to believe that appearances from Henry Cavill's Superman and Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman had been cut, but apparently they do briefly show up when Barry Allen is hurtling through time via the Speed Force along with several other characters.
The film reportedly concludes with the Scarlet Speedster finding himself in the universe of a certain other Caped Crusader, before being arrested.
We don't know for certain if this is all accurate, but at least some of it does track with previous rumors, so we wouldn't be surprised if it was on the level.
"Directed by Andy Muschietti, The Flash features Barry Allen traveling back in time in order to change events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to help. That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian…albeit not the one he’s looking for.
Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?"
The Flash is produced by Barbara Muschietti and Michael Disco, with a screenplay by Christina Hodson, an a screen story by John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein and Joby Harold, based on characters from DC. Warner Bros. Pictures presents a Double Dream/a Disco Factory production of an Andy Muschietti film.
The Flash will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures and is set to open in theaters in North America on June 16, 2023 and internationally beginning 14 June 2023.
