Not sure why the impact would create a podium for the hammer to sit on...

I always assumed that was created by SHIELD digging around it.

@Leeholland & Galactus -- I always assumed that the hammer didn't so much land on a podium as it just hit the sand and blew away most of it with the impact, but the sand directly below the hammer was immediately crystalized by the extreme heat generated by the Hammer's impact. It is the hammer of a Thunder God...

It is definitely a fake. Thor's hammer would create a crater which this did, but if you notice, the crater is there but the hammer is sitting on top of a pillar of dirt, just like in the trailer. Make's sense in the trailer that the hammer would be sitting on a pillar of dirt, because obviously shield tried to pull it out, but couldn't so they dug around it with no success.

Seriously though, on another note; I know CMB.com has a diverse following. There are folks from all walks as the saying goes. Unless we are seeing different sponsor messages how can it be I am the first of 35 to mention the GSP vs Kos fight advertised? Am I the only one here hyped for that fight?
