Ray Stevenson “Still In The Dark” About ‘Volstagg’ Return In THOR: RAGNAROK

It appears Ray Stevenson has yet to receive a call from Marvel about returning as one of the Warriors Three in Thor: Ragnarok, but he wishes the studio all the best if he doesn't.

“I’m still in the dark in regards to that,” Ray Stevenson told Geeks World Wide when asked about returning as Volstagg the Voluminous in the much-anticipated Thor: Ragnarok. This is not too surprising given director Taika Waititi has said many times that the Marvel threequel is in its early stages and that it’s still being decided which characters are involved. However, Stevenson is just happy to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“I’m absolutely blown away to be a part of something that so influential and integral in a part of our generation in regards to movie watching and this Marvel Universe,” he said. “It’s absolutely incredible and if there’s a place for Volstagg then great, but right now I don’t know. He was great to play. Vikings in space!” During a separate interview with Reel Film News, Ray Stevenson had reiterated not knowing about his future as Thor’s comrade and charter member of the Warriors Three. “The Marvel Universe, the way it’s played out as you know, as had three Iron Mans, [there will be] three Captain Americas, and then they’re building up to this amazing climax of The Avengers,” said the Irish/English actor.

“With that said, I feel that everything is geared towards creating a library which fans can immerse themselves in,” Ray Stevenson continued. “Now, does this mean that fans will see every single character involved [in Thor: Ragnarok]? Who knows? Would I love to be involved in that? I hope so, however, even if I’m not, I just wish [Marvel Studios] continued success in their incredible endeavor. I definitely feel that [what they have done] has become a staple to our generation. Until you sign the dotted line or know that it’s actually a reality, it’s up to the powers that be to decide if your character is right for the story. At this point, I don’t know.” Do you think the Warriors Three are involved?

Starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Mark Ruffalo, with Cate Blanchett and Anthony Hopkins, Thor: Ragnarok is set for release November 3, 2017.

If nothing else, Tom Hiddleston and Kate Blanchett should be glorious to watch on screen together.

I'm really hoping this film doesn't disappoint. Thor needs to be cosmic LOTR.

I hope the warriors three return. But, to be honest, I never bought this guy as Volstagg. Maybe Volstagg hard to bring to the screen.

having Kate Blanchett as a villain in MCU, makes me think the 2 best vilains in MCU come from Thor franchise.

I was never quite sold on Stevenson as Volstagg. Hogun was underused even compared to his fellow Warriors. And I liked the first Fandral a lot better than Zachary Levi. I hope they put all of them to good use in Ragnarök, as well as Lady Sif.

Sif and the Warriors Three better have more screen time than they've been getting. They need to be involved in a huge battle scene against Hela's army.

I bet we'll see Fenrir for sure, and I will be hoping Beta Ray Bill arrives (even though we all know that won't happen).

A man can dream, right?

@AsgardianHobo - Beta Ray Bill either has to appear in the movie as a main character, or at least as a reference.
Pretty sure he was reference in GoTG

this will have one of the best villains in the MCU.
I swear, if Thanos sucks EVERYONE will turn on the MCU

DC needs good villains, and good heroes to outrun the Marvel franchise.

DC-2/2

Something happened here.....

Lex Luthor will probably bring it down, as will Doomsday tbh.
