THOR: RAGNAROK: Will The GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Appear? We May Finally Have An Answer

We know the God of Thunder will meet Star-Lord and company fairly early on in Avengers: Infinity War but is the team going to appear in Thor: Ragnarok? Recent set visits appear to have provided an answer!

Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy will cross paths fairly early on in Avengers: Infinity War when they discover the hero floating in outer space but the signs are now pointing to Star-Lord and the team showing up sooner than expected. According to Screen Rant, they were shown concept art from Thor: Ragnarok featuring Asgard, Sakaar, and the Milano. The latter is, of course, Peter Quill's spaceship.

When producer Brad Winderbaum was asked about that image, he refused to say too much but did at least shed further light on the connections the threequel is going to have with the Guardians franchise.

"We’re definitely leaning into Jack [Kirby] more heavily than Guardians. There are elements of Guardians that will work their way into our film, both stylistically and narratively. In the sense that, like all the Earthbound heroes feel like they’re living and breathing in the same air, certainly now that we’re in space it feels, in a very MCU way, that we’re living and breathing in the same air."

It's been clear for a while that Thor: Ragnarok is heading down the same route as Guardians of the Galaxy in terms of look and tone and that's sure to make a collision between characters from these two very different properties extremely interesting and much easier for moviegoers to swallow. So, what will the Guardians be getting up to here? We'll let you share your thoughts on that below.

Have a feeling Ragnarok will end with Asgard in ruin and Thor setting off through space to find Thanos (since Hela may be Lady Death after all). Then Infinity War opens with a heated battle between them, Thor is defeated with ease, as we saw in the leaked trailer, and hurled halfway across the universe colliding with the Milano.

I think the Guardians may only be teased in Ragnarok.

@Spodermug -

I expect the 'head squeeze' scene from the Infinity War trailer with Thor will be the opening, he gets grabbed by Thanos and we see him get beaten down before Thanos destroys Asgard and leaves Thor floating comatose in space.

I think that there will be a Collector/Grandmaster credits scene. The Collector first appeared in the credit scene of Thor: The Dark World, after all.

I got a chance to see GOTG 2 on the flight home from vacation last week. It was fine. Drax is a bumbling moron now.

I watched Ghost in the Shell too. That was unadulterated garbage.
